So last week, I installed a new fan belt. A bit of a pain, but not as bad as the youtube guy made it out to be. The week prior, I noticed the tach not registering as well. As it was squealing, I knew it needed replaced anyways. After I did that (hardest part getting deck off), I cut my lawn. It was 85 degrees that day as well.
Problem solved. No more overheating. I reckon the fan and water pump, as well as the tach weren't spinning enough, and that simple fix worked.
