So, I've been experiencing a "long throw" on the clutch pedal and have adjusted the threaded rod that is connected to the clutch pedal and clutch lever just about as far out as it will go hoping to take up some slack. I know this is not a whole ton of information to go on but am I looking at a clutch replacement in my near future? Or is there another adjustment I can/should look for. It doesn't feel like it's slipping but the pedal just seems like it has a incredibly long throw to disengage the clutch and also when released the engagement seems at the far end of the pedal throw not near the "all the way released" end for lack of better terminology

I will be needing some WSM info when the time comes, I know pf kubota books.com but have trouble finding specifics for the manual styles b7100's so I may need some detailed info when it comes time. My father has split his 9n many moons ago and so I'm hoping he can help me with this project.

Really no specs needed, ya just bolt the parts on, and away ya go. ;)
The WSM is on Kubota books, it's in three parts for the B7100D.

Alright next question and I am pretty sure the answers are going to be oretty vague and depend on use and abuse, maneuvering of the machine excessive riding of the clutch etc, but what is the "normal" expected lofetime hours of a clutch on this type of tractor again I know mileage/hours can greatly vary but a general ballpark is what I'm looking for and of a answer isn't possible I get that. But does 1600-1700 hrs seem somewhat normal or excessive in the grand scheme of things. I think I bought it with just over 1400 hrs 3 years ago(ish) and I was told it was mainly used as a sidewalk plow, the 3ph wasnt even attached when I got it. From what I could tell and was told by the small.farm market I bought it from for 2500$ , it was generally well mechanically cared for despite having less then steller cosmetic appearances.

2K is about normal.
You shorten that greatly when you add things like, well a loader.
If you do a clutch now, it will more than likely outlast the tractor.

I have owned a B7200DT with loader for almost 30 years and replaced the clutch once in that time. Its due again. Even with the loader replacing the clutch is one of the easier jobs I have had to do on that machine.

Thanks Wolfman, Valid points, I don't have any clue how much the clutch was used during this tractors prior lifetime, all I can do is speculate, however I do know I've used it quite a bit during its life with me during the lastt 3 years, lots of clutchwork plowing snow, moving trailers loaded with firewood, skidding logs etc and
It has also seen even more significant clutch use in the last few weeks with the added loader, I'm sure my father who doesn't know what a tractor with brakes or a throttle pedal feels like, since his old 9n has none and he uses the clutch and bucket as brakes is not helping althe clutch on the B that is already at the end of its life
I have owned a B7200DT with loader for almost 30 years and replaced the clutch once in that time. Its due again. Even with the loader replacing the clutch is one of the easier jobs I have had to do on that machine.

Thanks Dan, I dont think the clutch has ever been done on this machine, and it is certainly more then 30 years old so I'm sure it's due even if the hour meter reads less then 1700, it gets shifted alot and used so I'm fine with doing it. Just wanted to make sure they wherent expected to be something like a 5000hr clutch or some silliness.

Just to keep this updated, I will likely be tackling this project during the long July 4 weekend. I'll order the parts a week or 2 in advance and take the opportunity to change the hydraulic oil ad clean the screens since it looks like I have to drop some or all of the fluid anyway.
Has anyone ordered a WSM for the gear shift model of the b7100?

It's about the best you'll get, I've never seen a better one.

I know this is likely a stupid question but I will be ordering the kit this afternoon and want to be absolutely sure I order the right thing.
The link you provided earlier is "sold" NIW. I found the same seller on ebay with what I believe is the same kit but a different "item number" since I don't see a part # on either link I want to be sure I get the right parts the first time. Below is a link to the new ebay page

Clutch kit came in last Friday. Tomorrow my father and I get to start splitting the tractor. I meant to get the loader removed this week to get a jump on things but ran out of time. The electric hoist in the garage should make that easy enough though then we'll put it on the trailer and wheel it out of the way for the duration of the project. I will do my best to photo document this adventure.

Well I got a jump on disassembly this afternoon for an hour. Got the homemade FEL off with the help of the electric garage hoist and small utility trailer.

Below are some pictures in this order.
First 3 are lifting the loader off the tractor before rolling the tractor back

Second set of are the loader sitting on the utility trailer which worked perfectly for wheeling the whole assembly outside, out of the way

And the last one is of the very naked looking kubota waiting to get split in half to do the clutch starting tomorrow

Next question? Is there an oil seal between the pilot bushing and the clutch /pressure plate assembly?
I'm also having a real tough time getting the pilot bushing removed from the end of the (crankshaft?) Is there any secrets to this besides a lot of patience basically have resorted to using Emory cloth and a dowl to file it down to from the inside to get it thin enough to possibly crush and remove.

Picture of said seal below if this is important as to an oil splash lube of the pilot bushing

please let me know, if there is a part number available that I can order this from Kubota

Tractor is split. Below are some pictures of the journey so far.

Couple of questions. Is that an oil seal in the picture in the post above, it came out of the end of the hole where the pilot bushing sits. If so what is a part #
Secondly as stated above how do I remove the pilot bushing short of filing it down to nothing, and also what is the best way to reinstall the new one?

Yes there is a seal on some tractors. I can’t locate it but you can check on Kubota USA for illustrated parts lists

on the pilot bushing removal take a wooden dowel and get it fitted pretty tight to the inner diameter of the bushing by sanding the dowel down. Then fill the pilot bushing with some grease but about half full. Put dowel in the hole and then tap it into the hole and then the grease will try to push the bushing out. The dowel rod needs to be longer than the bushing by an inch or two and not larger d than the inner diameter of the bushing just close fitting.

I've seen that trick a few times scouring the interwebs this afternoon, and was wondering if it actually worked in "real life" tanks for the heads up. Strangley I have the IPL downloaded and couldn't find the seal on there for the life of me. I'm hoping someone will come along with the golden part# and save my bacon
