In reality, the recoil on my Model 29 Smith 44RM is way more abrupt and sharp and the muzzle climb is way more pronounced than my 460 wheelgun. The 460 is an X frame (much heavier frame) than the 29 and the 460 has a built in, but removable muzzle brake so the recoil is much tamer and there is no muzzle climb at all. In fact you can shoot it one handed (if you are game....).Thank you but no thank you, Ill stick to my 44, oh wait I dont have that any more I lost it in that boating accident on lake superior
If we only had a buck for every gun that's been lost or stolen eh.Thank you but no thank you, Ill stick to my 44, oh wait I dont have that any more I lost it in that boating accident on lake superior
Boats and guns seem to have a certain commonality today.....If we only had a buck for every gun that's been lost or stolen eh.
Not living all that far from me, when the Wuhan Flu thing is overwith, you are welcome to stop by and I'll let you discharge a number of big bore handguns and long guns. I have a 300 yard range out back. Think you need to experience a 460 and a long barrel 44 and maybe a 338 Lapua Magnum. Got a 44 derringer too.Way back in the when I was much younger and had more bal,,,,er courage than I do now, I traded to an old abused 29, that had been in a flood and was soild but looked like crap. the font 2 inches or so of the bore looked like an old hunk of water pipe. I know a gunsmith and asked about a barrel job. He said he had just the thing. Lord knows where he came up with a S&W 3 incher, well heck yeah screw it in there! The price was right and ,, and now that I think about it he did have a twisted smile when he finished the job. 5 rounds of full house .44's out of it ,,and after that the only thing it was loaded with was 44 specials. I think I traded it off for a Glock later, which I gave away, or lost or something
Lol, you're at it early my friend. I think within a hundred yards a 30-30 would kill an elephant, well that's with the right shooter as always.I had a firend that lived in Montana,, He said he killed 20 some elk over the years with his 30-30 before someone told him he couldnt kill an elk with a 30-30, he said he was heart broken to find that out,,,lol
My first Elk was taken with a .308. Since then I have successfully use a .280 & 30-06 with no regrets about not having a "magnum".I was going elk hunting and a guy I knew said my 308 was too small
