Need input! I have 20+ acres of woods. I thin and cut 7+ cords of fire wood plus have numerous (on going) slash and brush piles to clean up. I need to decide on grapple or FEL with tooth bar and thumb. I have a B2620. Need the FEL a lot and right now am thinking the thumb may be the ticket. Already have the FEL.

Let's get all us PNW guys on one thread :D

I gotta agree with Wolfman, if the money is available the grapple makes working with wood much easier..
Plus it is better at ripping stuff out of the ground like roots and runners

I agree on the grapple also. Years ago I built several of them for loggers, to go on there skidders. They used them for moving brush to slash piles.

We used two skidsteers with grapple buckets to cleanup brush and pile wood, ended up with 300 estimated cords. The brush piles we burned were massive. All spruce and pine. Tooth bar and grapple as wolfman showed would be my go to tools. Very nice for sorting, but a little slow with a tractor (turning and manuvering)
Run what you have....

we seem to be in the same Pend Oreille drainage....and snow belt. a little lite this year, normally 5+ feet and I might have 18'' on the ground. member 96 - 97 my 6' deer fence was just a bump in the snow

thanks for all your input, with a grapple I might run out of seat time

I heard about 96/97

We moved up from CO in 02 so the biggest winter we have gone through so far was 07/08 and yep that easily buried the 6 foot fence and more...

You are close enough that you should check the prices at North Idaho Implement for the grapple set up..
