Ok before this thread gets derailed on the usual tack, please see the thread I just posted in off topics. Thanks everyone, especially for helpful and encouraging remarks.

My 3901 won't get hot enough just parked to regen, no matter how high the throttle is.
I have to have it do something - I can let it sit for a half hour at full throttle trying
to regen and it won't manage to complete. If I just put it in gear and start to drive,
it will manage to regen in only a few minutes. Try heading up a hill if it takes too long !
Consult your dealer on the temperature issues. Depending on the temperature outside (cool outside) that can have a negative effect on operating temperatures. You can try blocking off the radiator partially with a piece of card board to help the temperatures increase. Folks in some of the northern regions have to do this in the winter to keep the operating temperature up where it needs to be.

Well between rereading the manual and the good posts, believe Monday i should be able to roll. Forgot about shielding radiator, may have to do that as we have many times on older tractors.

Great forum, will report Monday, thanks to all

Oh man, I apologize for my earlier post. I really didn't mean to knock your tractor. I love it and the only reason I don't have one is because the previous model was discounted .

Hallelujah!!!!!!! I believe not according to page 19 of manual but it is working. Contact at dealer even said instructions vague

Done all as page 19 said to prepare for parked regen

Manual said select DPF inhibit switch and lamp will go out....it was never on!!

So, moved to low idle (per manual), selected regeneration switch and in a little tractor moved to 2700 RPM and stayed there for bout 20 mins.

All lamps and beeps gone: however, I NEVER seen any white smoke or anything come out of exhaust. Dont even know if I am suppose to.

I guess I will drive the tractor with DPF inhibit switch off as was delivered, if it lights and beeps again sometime, will repeat steps above.

I want to sincerely thank all here for their inputs. Helped me understand my machine better and I do like it, back saving.

thanks, Butch

Great news smokeless! The confusion about the dpf inhibit switch arises because Kubota changed what the default is for that switch when the tractor is started mid model. They also changed the appearance of the button. If it has a slash through it you have to push it to inhibit the regen, and the auto regen mode is the default. On my tractor inhibit is the default, but I also have a graph so I know when a regen is coming up.

With 8upbowhunter's help, I made a new owner guide, and NIW kindly put the pdf up yesterday, a little late to help you out. It is the last post in the sticky at the top of the operating forum,

I have a question, what did the lights and buzzer do while you warmed up the tractor? Or were you able to start the parked regen right away?

Let me know any other questions or post in that thread. Thanks!

REPLY: I started the tractor to ensure, coolant up to temp and engine warm, even drove it a little.

Beeping about every 4 seconds, regen indicator, engine rpm and parked regen indicators top right three on dashboard all flashing. Took about 20 to 30 mins to warm and never varied.

Then depressed parked regen switch, shortly after tractor moved rpm to 2700.

When it was done, rpm dropped to idle and regen light switch went out.

Learned allot bout tractor.

I will take a look at your new post and let you know if anything else comes to mind.

Thanks for your efforts, hopefully this will save someone else some grief
