I am looking at upgrading this year and I have two options in my budget. The 3560le with a 805 fel or the 4701 with the 725 fel. I don't need to hp of the 4701 but like the size for sure. I like the creature comforts of the 3560 le but I'm mainly looking for lift capacity. Are the frame size comparable of these two? I cannot find any definite answers anywhere so your thought and comments would be appreciated. Oh I will go hst on either because I also use it to mow about 4.5 acres.

I believe the size is similar, so I think it would depend do you want the HST+ transmission or not for the L3560LE, and will the extra HP of the L4701 help in that regard.
It may depend on the dealer, but one of mine suggested the MX5400 instead of the L4701 which is a bit cheaper. The MX also has wider front wheels and can offset more both of which should help with heavier loads and has a much more powerful loader.
In the end, I don’t expect to use the tractor that much, so I went smaller and went with the L2501HST. That may or may not have been a good decision considering I already have 11 hrs on mine in a month, but it’s been fine so far. I guess I’ll know more if I should have gone bigger in a few months.

The 2501 has done everything I've ever asked of it and more. It is honestly an excellent machine. I had not considered the mx series but I will check into it for sure.

If you are leaning toward the L4701 you might a well buy the MX5400 for about $1200 more.
I don't believe the frames and loaders are comparable between a 4701 and a 3560, but the only 01s that I remember seeing side by side with a 3560 were 3301, 3901. The frame on the 3560 was much heavier construction, as was the 805 loader. The 3560 was a taller heavier tractor. I recommend you find some to compare firsthand.
Besides the creature comforts the 60 series have better transmissions and other things that make them more heavy duty than the 01 series.
Because of the limited stock most dealers are running on right now it has been very difficult to find one where I could do a side by side. They either have one or the other but not both. I had not considered the mx series as a possibility. I was really trying to stick around the 30k mark but it will be on my list for sure. Thanks for all the help!
Next best is the detailed specs for each. Look up maximum lifting capabilities in the loaders and 3pt. You can find on Kubota website. Dealer should have also. It is in the owner’s manual. I have for the older l3560 but not the le.
If you are mainly looking for lift capacity and your budget will stretch to a MX5400, I would strongly recommend it. I have a MX5800 and do most of my lifting with that machine. You will find the increased capacity over your current L2501 to be night and day. I often feel my L3901 loader lift capacity is so poor but I've been spoiled by having the MX which lifts anything I give it with ease. I like the safety factor with lifting with the MX, my L feels like I'm always at the edge of it's limit as I get into heavier items.
An MX is a much larger frame, if you are comfortable with the size you will enjoy the PTO HP when it comes to mowing your 4.5 acres.

Another source of specs is Tractordata.com. It didn't seem to have all the loader tractor combinations, but you might be able to piece together the ones you are interested in. Don't be misled by the first letter in the Kubota tractor names. The L2501, L3301, and L3560 are very different beasts.

The two big differences I see in the two machines is the PTO HP and the transmission. The HST+ is a very nice transmission. The LE model can be made into a Grand series tractor with addition of a few items (lights, cruise control, mirrors, etc.) and all the wiring is in place and can be added later if you decide.
If PTO HP is the major issue, then 4701 is the way to go.
Of course, if you can afford the MX, that gives more lift and more PTO HP. I know we are very good at spending other people's money. Good look and decision.

Thanks guys, I've always found it easy to spend others money! I haven't been able to find the lift capacity of the 725 loader but looking at the mx I'd say will be a decent difference. I will be talking to some of the local dealerships tomorrow for sure. If I can get a mx for a little more than either of the previously mentioned I probably will. First thing is I have to sell my current ride. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have the GL4060 with 805 loader. Coming from the skidsteer world I thought it would lift more. It does what I want but if you want to be able to lift anything the 805 is not an adequate FEL (IMO).

That is actually somewhat hard to believe but an excellent reference. I clear about 1/2 an acre every winter to cleanup during the spring and I get some logs my 525 won't lift. I can sure scoot them anywhere I need to go though!
Internet says "Even the Cummins service manual gives a weight range due to the differences between various CPLs, showing the DRY weight of the 6BT as 855-905 LB"
I'd guess a transmission at another 400-500lb, so 1,300lb or thereabouts, which is 650kg? And you're not at the pins, it's bulky so you're pretty far ahead of the pins. You need a loader rated about 900-1000kg at the pins to lift that well. So MX or larger? Pretty much all tractors in the L size range are going to lift 700-900kg at the pins. The LA765 lifts 765kg at the pins, and lifts 573kg 500mm forward (to full height though). It can lift 783kg at 500mm forward, to 1500mm (aka 5 feet or thereabouts). So lifting 650kg at probably 800mm forward, and probably off a truck or similar so a bit higher than 1500mm....you're a bit beyond it's capacity.
