Hello, I'm looking for an attachment that would enable me to hook a chain around a log and lift it up with the 3 point to be able to drag it out of the woods. Ideally I would like it to be compatible with the QH10 quick hitch on my Kubota L2501. Also ideal would be if it had a class3 hitch receiver on it so that it could double as a trailer hitch that I can raise and lower. Does anything like this exist? Thanks

There is a pretty wide variety of skidding winches and most I’ve seen have an option for a trailer hitch of some sort.
Of course if you have some rudimentary fabrication abilities you can get a plain hitch tube such as used on RV bumpers and attach it to whatever you like if it doesn’t come with a cost effective hitch.
Skidding winches are cool, but expensive and Im just looking for a simple attachment i can lift a chain with and lift, to pull logs with the tractor, along with a trailer hitch for now.You could go with something simple and relatively economical like this:

This is a redneck approach on a little BX. Your tractor is obviously much larger.
A drawbar (Cat 2?) with a simple piece of threaded rod (5/16 or 3/8"?) looped up to top hook. Keeps things from spinning around. Although light, the rod hasn't bent yet.
You could mount a receiver to the drawbar.
My only cautions are (1) lifting the log too high may cause loss of weight on the front of the tractor...possibly flip it over and (2) the 3 point hitch, without any down pressure, the tongue of a trailer can lift the entire 3 PH assembly and possibly try to run you over.
Nice thing is just open the levers, and the whole thing lifts off in 10 seconds. Nothing to disassemble. Maybe could be scaled up to a larger machine.
Could possibly work a shackle on the top hook as well, which gives 2 hook points, but that also increases the risk associated with raising the log, etc.
You can see I also have a receiver hitch down low. Lessens risk of both issues above. A BX doesn't come with a functional drawbar for that purpose. That receiver and drawbar are aftermarket.

Exactly right, we are building a new home and I fell 50 trees from our home site. I skidded all the logs just hooking the chain over the top hook on my quick hitch and it worked great.
Throw a chain over the gooseneck ball.
I have a trailer hitch adapter on my 3point hitch picked up for 40 bucks picked up a couple weld on hooks welded them on that can still use 2 inch receiver with a Clovis or Clovis hook or on ball and have several welded hooks on it too also have one welded on top of back blade that's super handy too
I have used the boom from my post hole digger. Works well. A lot of weight in the fel, and it works better.
Used to do that with a hitch, chain and a Logrite log tongs. Then I got a grapple. I've never used the tongs since. Side note: They are the Logrite 28" version (the largest); if anyone wants them, come get it.

I do have the 3rd function kit and am planning on ordering a grapple within the next year but even if I order it now I will be waiting but even once I get the grapple, my trails are too narrow to carry large logs very far with the log sideways in the grapple. So I anticipate still having to drag logs behind the tractor.

I have pulled the scoop bucket off the frame and used the frame to pull out a couple of logs at a time. The structure works well. And it's only two bolts to drop the scoop.
Damn, I've run that scoop for over 30 years, CAT 2 and CAT 1, bent pins and all.
I might have paid $200 for it "back then". What a deal. It's hitched on now as I'm moving fill from a high spot to a new bank next to the house.

I started with the base part from a back blade and added based on my intended use from there. It’s modular so you can use as a hitch or put a wood vice in or a box or whatever will slide into a 2 inch hitch. Add some shackl bases for shackles
