I don't do a lot of dusty work especially not this summer with all the rain.

I use my air compressor to blow it out. After each time I brush hog and for general use every 4 or 5 times I use the tractor.

I replace both inner and outer once a year when I change the oil.

Thought this was neat, my L4600 takes the same air filter as does my Exmark Lazer Z. Who would have thought it..

For previous tractors, my method has been more like shown here:

The initial gentile blast of air with cover off, but filter still secured in place, gets rid of a good cloud of dust. Seems to pose little risk of forcing dust through, or damaging filter??
At 3:34.....that's when the dust gets cleaned!:D:p

Same as Blondie, I use the leaf blower since I don’t have an air compressor

My manual says to replace both filter each year. Went to the dealer and the part guys told me to wash the secondary filter. He says he rarely sell them and at 60$ each I decided to wash mine instead. Its a plastic mesh so I guess as long as its not physically damaged replacing it seem overkill to me.

Blowing on the inside of the primary element with 30 psi, according to the manual, does not sound effective. What do you do?
I use compressed air from the inside , then outside then inside again.

MUCH higher than 30 PSI.
