Thanks D2 I think it was my landscape rake, but around here it could have been anything. Today my trusty truck blew a brake line and had to be hauled bleeding closer to home on a flatbed. How humiliating :(

How lucky I figured it out while not on a fwy.

2003 Silverado HD Duramax. I don't wash it enough. The underneath is scary. It is a good truck and deserves better.

I’m not 100% on the hd’s but I’ve done a bunch of 1500s,Napa has a nice stainless brake line kit that has all the hard lines in it,if one blew the rest ain’t far behind,gm also has a whole kit available but it ain’t stainless lines

Thanks Len! I wanna fab up one of these and I need some "tars"...

They want $800 for this rig. A buddy just gave me a brand new blade I need to reconfigure and build into something like what is pictured. Those cheapie wheels will do great.

Ray, I think they also have some 13" wheels. No matter the diameter, they probably would not be good for a project requiring constant heavy loads. I'm just guessing, but knowing their origin they may still go "flat".....just in spots though!:D

Ya, that will get your welding skills tuned up. Make sure you have some of those magnetic angle holders. https://www.harborfreight.com/catal...tured+Weight,f,Sale+Rank,f&q=magnetic+holders

If the price of material keeps going up it might be cheaper to buy it :D

Already got the material. And a few more dumpster missions and I might be able to do it all in scrap. I cannot pass up a piece of square tube stock longer than 6". Even short ones make good gussets.

The welding shop often welds a couple pieces together as a fixture. They charge it off to the customer and chuck it in the bin. I bring it home and carefully cut it apart and use it. I made my generator tow device out of scrap I cut apart. Best thing I have made thus far.

Welding is a hoot.
