    Grapple width for LX4020, 56" or 66"?

L3940/66" grapple. The only time I wish it was wider is when I'm using it as a stick plow. Pretty rare, really, so for me the width is good. I think it probably depends on your use cases whether or not the wider one would make a difference.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Wood, as per usual. The sun was out yesterday (been a minute) so I took a break from work to move and stack some splits... Low 20s (*F) so pretty easy to stay warm so long as I was moving; once the tractor was warm I ran it at a higher RPM than I would in warm weather. It's my first winter...

    Husqvarna 550xp mark 2 or Stihl ms261

My 261c is about 4 years old now; the only issue was a worn-out plug making it difficult to start/keep running. It's usually oily on the bottom, but no fuel leaks. Starts 3rd or 4th pull, every time, regardless of temperature. Would buy again. Agree on PPE; I have Stihl chaps and a Tasco...

L4060 3rd function. Which kit do you recommend?

I went w the Long setup for my 3940; no complaints, parts are good quality* and install straightforward. *The socket head cap screws used to hold the solenoid valve body to the bracket are lame and rusted immediately.

Loader bucket for extra ballast, hauling wood etc.

Hey, FWIW I regularly carry my bucket with my grapple when I go someplace on the property where I'd like both available. Ballast box on the back, though often I consider a (weighted) carryall.

    Real-world fluid capacities? (L3940)

3940 does, and I opened both for sure. The old oil was nasty diesel black and after a cpl hours the new is still clean, so it seems unlikely that any great amount of old oil was left behind. I even warmed up the tractor and let it continue to drain while I swapped the filter for new.

    Real-world fluid capacities? (L3940)

My new-to-me L3940 is at 600h (I got it at abt 520). Because I've no way of knowing if the major 400h service was done I'm doing it now, including front axle, engine oil, HST fluid, and coolant. Thus far, none of the capacities listed in the OM are close to correct. Front axle capacity is...

    Seat belt locked up.

It was twisted at the end, which prevented retraction and, thereby, unlocking. Came off pretty easy; one single (tight!) 14mm bolt. I had to use the breaker bar. Once it's off the boot kind of pulls off, exposing the lock bar. Flip that away from the spool and the spool unlocks: Make sure...

    Seat belt locked up.

I expect it is. Hard to see though, has a long rubber boot on it.

    Seat belt locked up.

Had the ROPS up to do some log moving in the hilly(er) part of my lot and must have got the belt twisted; it will now neither extend nor retract :(. It's too short to accommodate my ever-more-prosperous girth. Anyone have a fast solution?

    Exhaust Fumes

FWIW I find that the exhaust at 1600 rpm seens less objectionable than 1300-1400; might be worth experimenting.
