Stubborn 3-Point Upper Lift Arm Pin Removal

Thought I would report back that a 1-7/16" gap pickle fork worked perfect. Wide enough to not damage the ball joint on the upper end of the links but narrow enough to catch the ball socket face. Tapped the fork in to give it good tension, then tapped on the threaded end of the pin, and it shot...

Stubborn 3-Point Upper Lift Arm Pin Removal

Good idea. I know exactly what you talking about. I don't have one but can pick up.

Stubborn 3-Point Upper Lift Arm Pin Removal

Thanks, but other than the lift link weight, there isn't any stress on it. I removed the lower lift arm already.

Stubborn 3-Point Upper Lift Arm Pin Removal

I am in the process of putting a Top N Tilt kit on my L5740. I am having trouble getting the upper lift arm lift pins out of the arm. Does anyone have any tips for getting that guy out. I soaked it in penetrating oil and tried banging on it a bit. I thought before I get more aggressive with...

Success: Larger R4s on Kubota Grand L

Used it last week in the snow. Worked fine. We don't have much snow though -- 5 inches maybe. I have used it in snow 3 feet deep before with the old worn tires and definitely wished I had a set of chains, but I was able to manage clearing my road just by being very conservative on how much...

    L6060 4wd Gear Ratio

Thanks for sharing that. I got the run around on it when I called. I am going to try an email and see if I can get the same thing you did for my L5740. Appreciate you sharing your success. Thank you.

Still not impressed with my Dealer

Nice to hear an insiders perspective. I think customers tend to hang the blame on the dealer, it is natural as that is where they have their service experience. But often I find with little probing that the dealer techs are often the heros and it is the overall service system they are stuck in...

    L6060 4wd Gear Ratio

Are you getting the PUSHING on all surfaces: soft soils > firm soils > hard ground? Another thought .. the front do wear quicker than the rear, and with wear an initial Lead condition could become a Lag. Probably not an issue if your tires are still fairly young in life.

    L6060 4wd Gear Ratio

When I was trying to figure mine out I was getting 1.56-1.57ish ratio numbers (I have a different model tractor). I'd get a slightly different number if I used tire rolling circumference vs tire static loaded radius, but they were well within 0.01 of eachother. Being a recovering mechancial...

    L6060 4wd Gear Ratio

I have heard others, smarter than me, that figured out their Lead/Lag had found Kubota OEM tires had them in a slight Lag situation. So what you say about PUSHING doesn't surprise me.

Still not impressed with my Dealer

You got off lucky, only 10 days! I mean that in all seriousness. A dealer had mine for over 80 days. I lost complete use of it over the growing season because they couldn't effectively troubleshoot an intermittant sensor failure problem. I won't go into the story or bore anyone with the...

    L6060 4wd Gear Ratio

I had same problem with a different model. Dealers didn't know. Not in manuals. Kubota USA wouldn't tell me. Finally talked to a large farm tire servicer. He told me the approach they use for any brand/model of 4wd ag equipment is to always make sure that the front-to-rear static load...

    Losing interest in R14 tires...

When I replaced my R4 tires I went with ones that had deeper, and most importantly narrower lugs. The narrower lugs let the mud clear better.

Success: Larger R4s on Kubota Grand L

In the past, as a non-member of this forum, I had browsed a number of posts on replacing tractor tires with something other than what Kubota offers. It seemed there was mixed success with some posts. I wanted to share my successful replacement of stock Kubota OEM Titan R4s with something...
