I was able to solve the problem. When you move the ATA lever from off to on a small roller pushed a pin that physically locks the peddle and throttle together. The roller was not pushing the pin far enough and it would just barley catch causing the ATA to work intermittently.

Check the maximum width on the BX 3 point and max lift height. Then compare to the subsoiler. Those are the two issues I would see you having.

Perhaps a toothed edge on your bucket while back dragging. Then go back to were you started and use the heel of the bucket to pull the material with you in reverse. I’ve done hard packed gravel this way for years and had good success. Might be the cheapest option.

$200 TSC version here. My L4740 pulls it at full depth in my heavy Ohio river Valley clay. I’ve been very pleased with the investment. Works well for areas that lay wet. A couple passes with the subsoiler and a little time and they drain away dry.
