    L4060 sluggish - dropping RPM's when driving

Hahahah….Last time I was in San Diego was 35+ years ago. GOOD TIMES!!!!!!!!!! I was getting a tattoo at Tiger Jimmys (doubt he’s there anymore)…….Wow…..time flies…..good times, FOR SURE!!!!! No more tats anymore, no more hookers, no smoking, booze is at a trickle’s pace….…….life is getting...

    Heater for hydraulic fluid?

OK. Not 100% sure what that means. Maybe I’m reading it wrong. Not sure how putting a car in D, and applying the foot brake is any different than putting it in D and applying the parking brake? Maybe in 1965, TC’s worked differently, but not to my knowledge. 🤷‍♂️

    L4060 sluggish - dropping RPM's when driving

I had a similar event happen with my truck a few days ago. It was gelled fuel. I have no idea how cold it is in “National” though? 🤷‍♂️

    Heater for hydraulic fluid?

This sounds similar to how and automatic transmission in a car works. If I recall correctly, by placing the trans in D, the fluid is then routed past the blades in the torque converter. The fluid is in turn warmed, because of the friction it sees as it passed the internal blades in the...

    dewalt air compressors

I like my little Quincy. I’ve had it for about 5 years’ish. I give it a pretty good workout as a “weekend warrior” mechanic. Quincy has a reputation for quality in their larger compressers, so I HOPE that “trickles down” to the little brothers as well, It’s an “oil type”, small and...

    Welder Advice

Hard to add to all the good advice posted above. My ‘vote' would be for a MIG machine for sure. There seems to be a smaller learning curve for MIG Vs. TIG. I will just add that my “personal experience” with Thermal Arc was/has been stellar. Not sure if they make MIG machines or not though...

Huh……I guess I was just lucky then. I bought mine at a place near my cottage, (Ginops of Hillman) since I figured that would be the place it spends most of it’s time, and although I did not “specify” a block heater, there is one. 🤷‍♂️

    SSQA landscape rake?

Our Senior Drill Instructor, back in the day, used to scream in our faces…... “Practice DOES NOT make perfect, you stupid F___Ks…..PERFECT PRACTICE makes perfect, ” We were the “Honor Platoon” that session. ;)

Welcome and congratulations on your new machine.👏 I have heard of this, but I am not “up to snuff” on the particualrs. Although I would not expect a significant difference in power/rpm. The more curious thing is why your dealer even stocked a tractor WITHOUT a block...

The screw head hits, yes. Is this problematic?

Now it’s off to the “obligatory” Black Oxide bath. And then into the “rinse bucket" ;) Not exactly “Earth shattering”, but it works for me. I’m going to stop off at the “hardware” today and grab some SS bolts and washers, and maybe polish them up. The End………...

So I use the 45 degree cutter to take it “as close as I dare” to the final dimension. My “brand new” endmill would have sorked great for this, so after some condsideration, I decide to use a collet to hold it and, it actually worked. Now for the bottom piece. I get it all secured...

I have to remove the piece, and I do have 45 degree jaws that I could have swapped out, But that would have necessitated lowering the mill head, and on a “round column” mill, I have found that to be “problematic” at best, when in the middle of a project. Although looking back, I think it would...

My grandpa used to say that, and it seems to be applying to me, with this damn “Carriage stop” project. Well, here we are, with a little “free time” and I decide that its time to conquer Mount “Carriage Stop”…. This will be my 3rd attempt……... This appears to be a fairly simple project that...
