Why not contact that ebay seller and explain your situation? Maybe he would sell it with a return period of time.

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

I can stand a small leak, but they never get better, and if at some time we want to trade for newer, the repair would sure be deducted, so not much sense to not fixing it when we get time.

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Dang, thatd sure be nice to not have to pull the cab off. Ive looked at the situation on this tractor and sure cant envision a way to get at the bolts holding the tractor together with the cab on. Did they modify the floor of the cab? Or use some sort of juju to see and get on the top bolts?

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Thanks Chim, perhaps they knurled the shaft to accept a wear sleeve? I havnt checked out what parts Kubota sells but perhaps there is a repair kit with a better seal and a wear sleeve.

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Thanks Lugbolt! I appreciate the detail. We can check at a kawi dealer for a crate, but without a forklift Im thinking we will just weld up a frame to lift with a crane. How much does a cab weigh? Or possibly no frame would be needed if we used 4 longer equal length straps from a ring? Or is...

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

I’ll sure check the front axle fluid level. But Ive hardly ever been that lucky. It barely leaked for the last couple years, but now when working the tractor fairly hard it seems to gush out pretty good. Then when it cools off a bit it slows up again.

    Craigslist strikes again!

Yes, those socket end wrenches are damn handy. Especially for hard to get at fasteners on outboards… Another name for them is Salter wrenches.

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Well Dick, To replace the seals in the clutch housing requires the tractor to be split. Theres no way to get at the bolts without removing the cab. At least this is how I understand the issue. Its usually the front propeller shaft seal from what I read, and quite common, but apparantly none of...

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Im sure a high lift forklift would work great if I had one. The Kubota wsm doesnt go into any detail about lifting points. Maybe after the cab roof is off I’ll see something that can work. There picture showing the lifting frame is so blurry its difficult to tell if there are pipes going through...

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

I had a look at the wsm regarding the cab removal. It looks like a frame is used to support 4 lifting straps? Has anyone here done this , and could comment if its a neccesity to weld up a frame, or can 4 longer equal length straps be used from one ring? To borrow and use the crane, itd be...

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

No, but do have acess to a smaller truck mounted crane. Where would lifting points be?

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Can anybody point out a thread that deals with this? I tried the search function, but it says ‘cab’ is too short a word and not included in results. The 3240HSTC-1 is starting to seep pretty good from that weep hole in the clutch housing, so one of these days we will have to split it to replace...

    Frame Captive Nuts

How bad are they stripped out? Could you run a tap thru them and put in new bolts? Usually the bolt is softer or equal hardness to the nut, so Id expect those threads to be tore up or worn down too.

Kubota 040-4 Excavator giving a 065 System Error code.

Using ether is playing with fire on these kubotas. They arent designed to handle that. Its a great way to bend a connecting rod.

If you still havnt gotten it to run, Id drain the tank, drain the pump, injector lines, drain everything, then put some fresh fuel in the system. Perhaps that would help, sure couldnt hurt.

Up here, off road is red, on road is clear. Your sample looks like you picked that bottle up off the side of a truckers highway.
