Had anyone looked up the procedure in the operators manual? I know I often find answers there I may have forgotten about after reading the manual upon/before delivery. We all read the op manual when we got our tractors-right? Good Luck!

Every L series I've serviced has that nasty 7MM head pipe plug that was installed way too tight. And,I've never been able to find a 7MM 4 point socket to help remove them.

I think those went out around 1987? I still remember a case of oil was 24 cans. As the cardboard can showed up,I usually punched the spout into the can halfway and then pull it out and bend the tab and re-insert the spout for best results. The good old days! Thanks again for posting.

I filled 5 barrels of farm diesel last week @2.47/gal Last year at this time I filled 6 barrels @ 1.37/gal.

Great math! Several decades ago I screwed in a 1/4 x 28 grease fitting into a Toyota part and it sealed perfectly,or it did not leak . No metric fittings available at the time. Thank you again for your post!

I should also add that 1/4 x 28 is very close to M6 x 1.0. I mean very close-can be hard to tell the difference.

Since the loaders are USA made,I would expect fractional sizing. Smaller threads are 1/4 x 28NF(fine thread),while a little larger ones are 1/8" NPT(pipe thread). The ones I've changed on my LA403 have been 1/4 x 28. Good Luck!

I warm up my hydraulic fluid before draining. I would imagine most any fluid would drain better warm. As to the importance,opinions will surely vary. Good Luck!

Not really applicable here,but I always turn an engine to #1 TDC before disassembly. It gives you a reference point you can return to. Saved my butt on many occasions,although we don't rebuid engines much these days. Good Luck!

EGR is often misunderstood. Exhaust gas is introduced to the combustion chamber to reduce the amount fresh air{oxygen},which lowers the temperature of the combustion process. NOx are reduced by lower combustion chamber temps. Hope this helps!

DI water is used in the pre-mix 50/50 coolants. Helps justify the price.
