Lights on my BX23S ROPS. What I learned

this is my first experience with a ROPS equipped tractor and well, i've hit a few branches while mowing and brush hogging...the branches (so far) come down and i've not yet broken my lights or bent the brackets - much to my surprise. It's a learning experience though!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

got it stuck in the horse pasture...still there..maybe tomorrow night I can get it out..if not, then maybe sunday. WAY wet where I managed to get stuck, not gonna risk getting my truck stuck getting it out. Sposed to be dry for 4 or 5 days..gotta work anyway so I"m not missing much time on the...

    Farm implements

PA (and other states I assume) offer a 'clean and green' program - if you enroll you land yo only pay taxes on buildings - not the land. Could be woods, pasture, crops, etc. Your tractor can pull a single bottom plow, perhaps a double bottom. $300-500 new, maybe hit up some auctions. then you...

    Finish mower vs zero turn

My ZT was $3300..about the cost of a MMM for many kubota's - and it's ready to go 24/7. My (used) kubota came with a MMM that runs off the PTO in the back and uses the 3pt to lift and lower.. for many jobs it needs to come off, or is a lot better if it's not on the tractor. Just something else...

    Box Scraper for B6100

4 foot as others have said. I got a land pride (they have diff 'grades'- i got the cheaper/lighter one). it has 4 rippers held in with clips..they sorta suck to use but do function. I has reversable/replaceble cutting edges. Another difference you'll find between cheaper blades and better...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

started grading a 65x130 foot area for a horse arena with my box blade. Need to remove the grass and level (well, flatten and pitch) the area, then put in 36 posts.

    Finish mower vs zero turn

I agree, you need details, specs, etc. Many factors are at play - cutting around things is of course one and where ZT wins hands down. Lots of hills or slopes maybe a tractor is better. Open fields/yards it comes down to how much cut width and speed have you got to work with? The bigger...

    F150 Questions

Towing isn't just abotu pulling power - my 2014 subary 4cyl has more HP than many early 80's trucks but can't pull crap by comparison. And it can pull 3X what my son's 200hp v6 taurus can pull. there is stopping, handling - regular flat sunny day roads as well as night in the rain on a hill...

    F150 Questions

ALuminum body I assume? DOn't go doing fender benders..not cheap/easy to fix (from a bodyman friend o fmine). I know from a truck forum folks where happy with a GVWR of 7200 (vs silverado's 7000) but in PA that means DOULBE the price for a license plate (7k is the cutoff). Towing..read up on...

    Gravel Driveway - Box Scraper

help me understand what you're doing with the gravel driveway.. I've only ever seen it top dressed... So is the point here to 'till' the top 2" or so of driveway, sort of pullng the stones up to the top and 'shaking' the dirt down? I never had the equipment to do anything..now i do..just no...

    Looking for "Temporary Garage" Recommendations

you could try a 'hoop house' - put rebar in the ground like a stake, use PVC or conduit and slip over rebar on both sides of 'garage' to make a big hoop. You can cover with plastic for greenhouses, good for 4-6 years, or i've heard of people using old billboard material (some are paper, some...

    Gun laws 101?

Ohio if I recall until just a few years ago required shotgun only (well, no rifle) for deer. PA allows any caliber for deer (or any game for that matter). 7mm mag for squirrels? go for it! LOL PA was the last state to allow semi-auto's for hunting, and it's only small game and I think pests...

    Gun laws 101?

Well, while PA is an open carry state the Guvner had declared a state of emergency do to the opioid crisis and that makes it illegal to carry any weapon in public. Otherwise, 18 for a rifle, 21 for a handgun. No magazine limits. No ID or anything to buy ammo. CC permit is $15 for 4 years and...
