    Daily Chuckle

A few years older than you...still have plenty of grip strength. But I've developed what the Doc calls "trigger finger"...sometimes when I bend my fingers too far they stay there, locked in place until I reach over with my other hand and straighten them back out again...

EDC question ( Asking for a friend)

I've got several that I COULD carry all the time but it seems most of the time my go-to is my S&W Model 60 in .357 magnum, adjustable sights. It just works for me. And fired single action it is super accurate - no problem making the steel clang at 50 yards. The trigger is just so sweet...

Looking for Advice about a Reliable UTV

I love my Can-am. But if it were me, I'd give the market a couple years or so to find all the weak points in this all-new HD11 (mine is the HD10). They made a lot of changes, starting with the 3 cylinder engine versus the 2 cylinder in the previous models.

    Gear heads

It's a 3.0 litre straight six...kind of a "mini-Cummins".... https://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gm-engines/lz0/ Met an old guy up in the high Wyoming mountains a month ago who was driving one. Said he'd had it for about a year and absolutely loved it.

    Gear heads

^This. Around here where vehicles don't rust, a pre-emissions Dodge/Cummins or Ford 7.3 Powerstroke will essentially sell for what it sold for as new, even with around 200,000 miles on it. Hard to imagine driving a truck for 20 years with no depreciation! You'd be lucky to get $5,000 for a...

    Gear heads

Yup! All that low end torque - seems like the engine never needs to go above 2000 rpm - is really addictive. Pulling a steep hill and the transmission doesn't need to shift down, even at altitude, just makes me smile.

    Gear heads

I hear you! Got two of them with the 5.9. One with the automatic and one 6 speed manual. I have a feeling they will easily outlive me!

    Gear heads

Seems like all the manufacturers have jumped on the "small turbocharged engine" bandwagon. Ford started it 14 years ago with the first Ecoboost. Toyota quit making the V8 Tundra, now all you can get is a 3.5l twin-turbo just like what Ford has. Dodge (Ram???) went to a twin-turbo straight 6...

    quick attach 3 point

My solution was to just get a set of Pat's Quick Hitch attachments that fit in the ends of your 3 point hitch lift arms. After all, the most difficult part of hooking up an implement is getting the ends of the arms lined up with the attachment points on the implement. With the Quick Hitch...

M7060 Idle is high. How adjust?

Idle speed on my 9 year old M7060 has always been 900 - 1000 rpm. If memory serves me correctly that's what it is set to idle at, at the factory.

Looking for Advice about a Reliable UTV

Better for what??? First you need to tell us what you'll be using the UTV for? Trail riding? Hauling people? Work around the farm? For instance, the four choices in your list above - the Honda Pioneer and the Can-am Defender have a much larger bed - more room to haul materials, tools, etc...

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

A couple days ago I heard the quail that live under my rose bushes complaining loudly...sounded the way they do when there's a snake crawling around there. I looked out to see a hawk - and the way it was moving it was obvious that it was crippled somehow. Next time I looked out there, it was...

    It didnt rain today

Last time it rained around here was back in April. The last couple weeks we've had several dry thunderstorms come through...no rain but they started some wildland fires. I have to irrigate the trees around my house for 6 hours every night to keep them alive. I also keep a basin there that...

    New Cars/Trucks

Funny how people get a perception that a turbo on a gas engine is somehow less reliable than a turbo on a diesel engine. Guy here in town made that same kind of statement when we were discussing the 5.0 Coyote versus an Ecoboost. He owns a business and runs 5 turbodiesel trucks and got all...

    New Cars/Trucks

???? This is the first I've heard of that fairy tail. What kind of data is that statement based on? I've owned plenty of turbocharged vehicles, including an F150 with twin turbos, and not one has leaked oil. My Kubota has a turbo also and its sure not a leaker!

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Growing up in Pennsylvania, our major worry this time of year was getting enough sunny days for the hay to dry enough to be baled. The countryside was always a deep green color. Here in Nevada nothing is green if it is not irrigated. Having a crop means putting in an expensive irrigation...

    OK one more bytch!

Maybe in your part of the country. Around here if you want a cell signal away from town you have to get Verizon. No one else has rural cell towers. AT&T was doing some kind of a job in the nearest town. They had to get Verizon phones because their AT&T phones wouldn't work even in town.

    ORD

Lived here for 30 years now and only one station has had ORD available in all that time and it is a card-loc facility. No one around - just the pumps. But they do save me about 50 cents a gallon over the on-road diesel so I load my tank (its on a pallet) in my pickup and go fill it up when...

I went to the dark side 😱😱

When I put up my yard fence I did about the same. Only I attached a cable comealong to the bucket of the tractor which allowed me to easily adjust the height of the fence. And the comealong could really put some tension on the fencing!
