    The Wash Cloth

Never heard of that. Interesting! Wifey's one cousin showed us some cloths that are supposed to have silver content(?) that makes them kill the "crobies".

L2501 intermittent loss of power and sputtering

Yes, I'd expect them to make an effort. And yet I understand that they would want to see it do something they could go on.

Looking for “Black pipe dope” advice………...

I believe it may have been chilled water for HVAC (because we normally tried to avoid plumbing jobs). The project was at the State Farm Show Building. I texted a bud to see if he remembers. With your background you probably recognize something we had a chance to play with:

    The Wash Cloth

The wash cloth I used this morning had a decent sized hole in the center. First thought - toss it. Then it made me think of when we were married in 1970 and starting out. It was fun to be out on our own and we didn't miss living at home except for some small things. One of those things was...

Looking for “Black pipe dope” advice………...

Our mechanical division we had an "incident" while testing PVC piping with air pressure - as required by the specs. I don't recall the size, except I think it was larger than 2" and received lots of attention. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The company VP decreed there would never be...

L2501 intermittent loss of power and sputtering

Amen. As a young electrichicken I enjoyed service calls. Great variety and experience. I had more than one customer tell me that "yesterday this darn thing did such and such" and if I couldn't find anything obviously wrong I'd tell them to call me back when it stayed broke.

I have a can of Gasoila Softset from 1983 that I'm still using. If it's been a long time since the previous use i give it a quick stir with a screwdriver. I have some dedicated hydraulic sealant (somewhere), but Gasoila is used everywhere else.

L2501 intermittent loss of power and sputtering

As already mentioned, the intermittent nature of the problem does make the diagnosis difficult. There's always a chance that a reader here solved a similar problem and will be able to assist. There's no limit to the goofy things that can happen. One that came up not too long ago was the foil...

    Grand L warning beacon mount.

I used these small LED's on the last two tractors. They have several different flash patterns that are selected via a button beside the switch in the cab. They "remember" the last setting, so I intentionally did the original setup so the rear/sides front are out of sync with each other. I run...

    Electrical Problem

One more suggestion. When making connections it's good to use some sort of anti-oxidation paste - Penetrox, No-Alox, Ox-Gard etc.

New member, and new owner of a L2502HST

Welcome aboard and very nice tractor! I consider max RPM is what happens when I peg the throttle lever. I rarely run much over 2000 RPM's. Most of my useage is mowing the yard with a rear mower. The engine speed is varied according to the best blade speed for that time. I don't mow...

    Electrical Problem

If you get bored while waiting for the replacement cables, remove the existing cables, clean all the mating metal parts and try the test again. The cables may be OK. I've had bad cables (corroded under the insulation and not readily noticeable) and bad connections where good cables connect to...

    Lube Survey

Welcome aborad! This is the way it frequently goes when very common questions are re-asked. Generally there's sufficient information (and likely the same thing we'd recommend) in the first five or six posts. Then the drift kicks in, perhaps because most of the useful information has been...
