In addition to the shear bolt on the driveshaft I also have shear bolts on the shaft that goes from the gearbox to the chain sprocket and another one on the, what is called in the manual the "fan". This may be what he is referring to.

If you mean the protrusion on the piece with the splined hole that is bolted to the u-joint as shown in the pic above, that is the shear bolt as nbryan mentioned.

I normally do it with the engine running before shutting off the engine, but sometimes I forget and leave something that needs to be lowered, usually the 3-point. Good to know I won't be doing any harm by forgetting!

Without you having the manual, I don't want to mislead you so I will leave that the more knowledgeable people on this site. You should be able to find the manual somewhere; it will be valuable information overall.

Something I've wondered about but never asked. Is it ok to lower a FEL, 3-Point implement or any other hydraulic coupled implement with the engine not running? I can see maybe a 3-point implement where I'm guessing the hydraulic fluid just gets returned to the tank, but I may be wrong about...
