    FDR2584 Finish Mower HP requirement

The manual states that this can be used on a tractor PTO HP of 15-50 HP. I am looking for a smaller, second tractor that will be kept at another property to use with this mower. What HP tractor are any of you that have this mower using. Is 15HP really enough? This thing has a 7' cut. Grass may...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Put the backhoe on the tractor today, I normally do this once a year to get backhoe related projects done while it's attached. Attaching this thing is hit or miss, get lined up right the first time or fight with it for a while. I guess if I did it more often it may get easier. I have the wife...

    Snow blower question

In addition to the shear bolt on the driveshaft I also have shear bolts on the shaft that goes from the gearbox to the chain sprocket and another one on the, what is called in the manual the "fan". This may be what he is referring to.

I'll add this to my list of what to not ask about along with oil, filters, transmission fluid, grease ... I'm sure I'm missing a few  😁

If you mean the protrusion on the piece with the splined hole that is bolted to the u-joint as shown in the pic above, that is the shear bolt as nbryan mentioned.

Dropping an implement with engine off

I normally do it with the engine running before shutting off the engine, but sometimes I forget and leave something that needs to be lowered, usually the 3-point. Good to know I won't be doing any harm by forgetting!

Rear tire fill - your thoughts appreciated

Certainty not 50 years in my rims. Rim rotted through after I'm guessing 15 years with calcium chloride and pissed itself out all over my barn. I was told it was because the fluid wasn't filled to above the top of the rim which left an air pocket for the corrosion to advance. Whatever, my...

    Snow blower question

Without you having the manual, I don't want to mislead you so I will leave that the more knowledgeable people on this site. You should be able to find the manual somewhere; it will be valuable information overall.

Dropping an implement with engine off

Something I've wondered about but never asked. Is it ok to lower a FEL, 3-Point implement or any other hydraulic coupled implement with the engine not running? I can see maybe a 3-point implement where I'm guessing the hydraulic fluid just gets returned to the tank, but I may be wrong about...

You bought a chain saw in 1923!!! :p I didn't even know they made them back then and I'm glad to hear you are still running it. I hope I can do that when I'm over 100 years old.

Del Morino Centurian Super Flail Mower Manual

The manual I received with my flail mower left much to be desired. There was no mention of what to tension the drive belts to, so I emailed Del Morino with that question. I gotta say for being about 4000 miles and several time zones away, they were very quick to respond. Anyway, they sent me a...

Not to get this forum off track, but what are you going to use the dry well for? I was thinking of making one but don't know how big it should be. It would be to collect rainwater off a small section of roof which pools up on the ground.
