Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

Snowman - thanks for that comment. Last year I was not able to get a back blade in time for the snow. So it was the blower and the excavator. This year I have a blade and it is a lifesaver. Using it constantly with the blower.

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

BTW - I currently live in Park City as I build my future house on the property I have been referring to. My backyard butts up to Deer Valley and I just learned that we have passed the 40 foot mark on snow this season having received a total snowfall of 485 inches after our latest storm...

    Here Kitty kitty

We live in Northern Utah, and have lots of nocturnal visitors including mountain lions and bobcats. Usually you just get a tiny glimpse of them but early this morning my security camera caught a bobcat up close and personal as the cat walked over what should be (if not for all the snow) an eight...

    Dirt Dog attachments

I bought the six foot RC105 from Good Works Tractors. Very well made, locally down in Georgia. I am still quite ignorant about all things tractor and had some issue with it (stupid newbie install thing). Contacted them and they were super helpful. No regrets over buying it.

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

It's paved and is 14 feet wide but I clear about 12 feet cause I can do that with two passes. I have wings on the snowblower and its base width is 74" so two passes just work. If I had to do it over again I would have gone with the bigger 84" model that is for sure.

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

Nope, I do two passes (or sometimes 4 if I have to do a half deep pass due to snow depth). Go all the down to the end of the drive and then turn around and come back up.

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

I wanted to follow up to my post from a year ago when I was a total newbie. The snow here in Northern Utah has been epic. I now have a mile long road that I need to keep cleared which keeps me busy. A local reporter took this shot when he was wandering around looking for something fun to snap...

    upgrading a L4060 Limited

Good morning - thanks for this post. I have been looking, unsuccessfully for that part number. How hard was it to install? Is it pretty self evident as to where you put the switch? Any tips on that are appreciated. Thanks Kevin

    Emptying the water seperator

Ok, that makes sense - that is the spring I am referring to. So, not critical assuming that I make sure the filter is in place. Appreciate the reply. Kevin

    Emptying the water seperator

Now I get it! Thank you for that explanation. I have been pouring out perfectly good diesel fuel. Follow up Q if you don't mind. What is the purpose of the spring? Mine has disappeared somewhere along the way. I ordered another from Messicks but just wondering what it does. Thanks again for the...

    Emptying the water seperator

Thank you wolfman for your questions. At first I did the stupid "assumption" thing and thought it was water with some diesel mixed in. But after reading jyoutz's post I am now guessing it is just diesel. The ring never moves it is always on the bottom. Every time I post I realize the depth of...

    Emptying the water seperator

Howdy, I have a 2022 L4060. The water seperator fills up every one to two hours to the point that when I unscrew the it the liquid spills over. I am still a total novice / newbie when it comes to the maintenance part of tractors but this does not seem right to me. I am now stopping once a hour...

    Using wheel ramps

Thanks for the feedback and the "test" - looking forward to hearing what you have to say. I looked at the truck ramps and they weigh 200 lbs each on average. I have read good and bad on Rhino ramps but looking at the 16,000 ramp that = 8,000 lbs per wheel. I think there is a fair amount "fudge...

    Using wheel ramps

That was my thought - I do appreciate the clarification from jyoutz about possible rolloff potential. I plan on measuring my front tires and validating that whatever I buy can handle the tire size. The ramps in post #11 don't handle enough weight as far as I am concerned. Kevin

    Using wheel ramps

Mark - I have a utility building that I would use the ramps in. Just interested in raising the front enough so that I can actually work without working as hard. Kevin

    Using wheel ramps

Hey NB - thanks - do you chock the rear wheels also? Kevin

    Using wheel ramps

Howdy - curious as to why you say you would not use these ramps. The specs state that they can hold 16,000 lbs. and the 4060 w/the hitch and blower comes in at less than 6,000. What is it that concerns you? Thanks, Kevin

    Using wheel ramps

I have a L4060 and during the winter I run the front end 4 point quick hitch with a snowblower. As I get older and the joints get stiffer I find it harder to get underneath the tractor to do the fun tasks like greasing the u-joints. Wondering if anyone on here uses wheel ramps to raise the front...

    Def delete question... A continuation

Hi John - not sure who you contacted at Kubota - but I had an issue a while back and did a direct reach out to some senior managers and got a very positive response. (Mod Edit email removed emails in PM only)- He is the Senior Vice President for Sales Operations, Supply Chain and Parts. He was...
