    Vinyl seat repair

I used this to repair a small cut in my seat. It held up great for a couple years. I recently changed the seat out for a more comfortable one.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Used the backhoe on the BX24 to peel off the sod for a paver path from the garage to the deck landings. Picking up another 2.5 tons of #73 limestone tomorrow for the base for the paths. So far, I’ve got 5.4 tons on the 90’ path from the deck to the barn. Another 2.5 tons should be enough to...

Picture of your tractor on your trailer

Looks like there was something attached to the 3PH so it couldn’t be backed up. Probably a box blade. Might have been able to back it onto the trailer and hung the bucket over the back gate.

Picture of your tractor on your trailer

This genius went by my house yesterday demonstrating how not to properly haul a tractor.

    Sod Cutter

The sod cutter works really well. I used it yesterday to remove a strip of sod 40” wide by 90’ long where I’m putting in a new paver path from the deck out to the barn. I put my hitch carrier on the frame and added 360 lbs of sandbags to help get the cutter into the dry, rock-hard ground. It...

Anyone know Solar? Help me think this through

I have a solar setup in my 24’ x 24’ barn. The system consists of: 2- 100W mono crystalline panels, 30W MPPT charge controller, group 27 deep cycle marine battery, 4,000W peak/ 2,000W running pure sine wave inverter, Square D QO series box and breakers (QO breakers are actually rated for DC...

    Hose protection

I doubt you’ll find any kind of hose sleeve at any big box stores but they might have spiral wrap similar to the Outback Wrap. It should be in the electrical area.

    BX24 winter cab build

I pulled the cab off a few weeks ago and tonight I moved it to the barn for storage until next winter. To get it out of the way, I screwed and lagged some 2x4s to the wall to set the pieces up on and held them there with a ratchet strap.

Rear tire spacers and weights for BX2380?

Any older garden tractor wheel weights should fit your BX as long as they are for 12” wheels. I have a set of steel weights on my BX24 that I originally made for one of my old Cub Cadets. They are 52 lbs each. I also have 1-1/2” wheel spacers to keep the tire track width the same as the loader...

    Type of trailer?

Luckily, I bought it pre Covid in 2019. It was $2800 new. The same trailer now is $4200 new. I also bought the lumber for the sides in 2019 before prices skyrocketed.

    Type of trailer?

I use an 18’ car hauler to haul my BX24. I wanted a trailer without sides or fold-up ramps that would interfere with loading skids. I built a set of wood sideboards for hauling loose materials.

    Sod Cutter

Finished making the mounts. The right side is even with the bucket and the rear tire.

I needed to make a couple bends in a piece of 16ga stainless today, so I made a simple vise brake with some scraps. The welds aren’t pretty because the gas bottle ran out mid way.

    Sod Cutter

Mocked up the cutter on my 3PH frame to figure out how and where to mount it. The plan is to offset it so that it runs even with the side of the loader bucket so that the bucket can be used as a guide. The mount will also be symmetrical so that it can be used on either the right or left side.

    Sod Cutter

Welded it together today. Now, to figure out how I’m going to mount it to my 3PH frame. I also need to grind a sharper angle on the blade.

    Sod Cutter

I’m certain it will need weight to get it to cut in. The plan is to mount the cutter to my 3PH fork frame and add weight to a receiver hitch cargo carrier slid into the 2” receiver on my frame.

    Sod Cutter

The roller will be a few inches forward of the blade to control the cutting depth. The blade will be tilted down 10 degrees to help it pull down under the sod and the cutting edge will be beveled to a sharper angle. The vertical plates will be sharpened too. It will be similar to this Ventrac...

    Sod Cutter

This year, I’ll be re-grading the yard to help water drain away from the house and off of the paved driveway. A new 90’ path from the deck to the patio is also in the plans. I’m building a simple sod cutter to remove the grass and hopefully re-lay it after I remove some dirt to fix the grade...
