Kubota BX 25 Want to add a thumb to BT601 Backhoe, Looking for advice.

I had thought about welding some stops onto the stick as well. It would definitely have fixed the sliding issue. The modifications I made to the thumb were posted here. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/kubota-bx24-mechanical-thumb-bolt-position-question.41332/

Kubota BX 25 Want to add a thumb to BT601 Backhoe, Looking for advice.

I had one of the cheap universal fit (Titan) manual thumbs on my BX24 for a while. It took quite a bit of modification to make it fit, clear the bucket curl cylinder, and stop it from sliding on the stick. I got tired of fighting with it and ended up making a hydraulic thumb.

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Few pics of the northern lights on Thursday night. They were slightly visible with the naked eye and my phone camera picked them up great.

    BX drawbar (?)

Add a 2” receiver and it becomes much more useful. I simply welded a receiver tube to mine but there are companies that make bolt-on replacement pieces.

The Lottery - Anyone hit it?

Not to brag, but I hit Powerball for $8 on Wednesday. I’ve stopped answering the phone and knocks on the door to try and keep it all for myself. Lol I did win a couple of 50/50 drawings at work for a friend named Denny, that was diagnosed with cancer. I didn’t keep one cent for myself and gave...

    Looking for some "machine advice"

We have that same Nardini lathe at work. It’s a solid machine. It will cut Inch and Metric threads but I believe it requires a gearing change. I’ve only cut threads on it a time or two. My only gripe with it is that the chip pan slides out the back so you need sufficient room behind it to empty...

    Looking for some "machine advice"

I had been looking casually for a Bridgeport mill for several years. I got serious at the end of last year and found a Taiwan built Willis mill. It’s built heavier than a Bridgeport and has a larger table with more travel in X and Y axis. Willis is in Toledo, Ohio and they stock replacement...

    BX 3-point height indicator

To be honest, I don’t even use it. I don’t have any rear implements that I need to set to a specific repeatable height. I only made it to see if it would work.

    I added a 3 point height indicator to my BX24. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/bx-3-point-height-indicator.53079/

Picked up a few things at a swap meet yesterday: 6” Kurt vise for the mill, Starrett 0-6” blade depth mics, 5C collets, Jacobs No3 17/32” drill chuck, and a $5 tackle box full of tools. Inside the box, I found a nice set of Craftsman small hole gages and some old sockets and wrenches, some of...

Mill part stop. Made a couple improvements to my Hardinge lathe. Made rubber way wipers and a hinged cover over the cross slide ways.

Added a cabinet to my mill and re-wired the variable frequency drive. Added a digital readout to the quill and made a new collet rack. Have been making tools. Tap guide block. Indicator stand with fine adjust. Screw jacks with risers. Indicator holder for mill spindle. Spring...

    Machining question for lynnmor

If you don’t have an indicator, put a square against the back jaw and slide it against the side of the pin and pick up the square blade with the edge finder and move over half the diameter.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I had one of the Kidde fire extinguishers that was recalled. They sent me a replacement with a metal valve and I sent the plastic valve extinguisher back in the pre-paid box.

2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Fuel Mileage

These newer trucks are capable of great fuel economy. I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L. Until I got a programmer for it, I almost always drove in M5 to keep it running in V8. The programmer allows me to disable the AFM (Active Fuel Management) and it stays in V8. It also has...

    Rear Remotes For a BX23S

Does the 23S have an operator presence switch in the seat? If so, that’s why the seat doesn’t rotate 360 deg since there are wires connected to the seat. I put the valve on my tractor this morning to get new pics of the relocated hoses. I moved the pressure inlet below the couplers and hard...

    Rear Remotes For a BX23S

Does the seat on a 23S only rotate to the left? I have to rotate the seat to the right on my BX24 to clear the valve. I have since re-routed the hoses to the valve to clean it up and get the hoses farther away from my legs.
