How do I NOT Break This??

Hi Yet Again, Wish there was a Sticky for "How Do I take THIS apart Without BREAKING it??" Just the fuel filter on B7100 etc. You know: That ring with the bumps on it unscrews, right? CounterClockwise like it should, Right? Hand/rag doesn't move it. LIGHT grab with Visegrips wiggles it...

    MX5800 oil seal removal

Tiger, those bars are SO useful in so many places.. The hard one is where there is a shaft in place and you really don't want to pull the engine all apart.. Years ago I saw THIS kind of seal puller used in the machine shop I used for boring cylinders, grinding cranks etc. They had ALL the...

    MX5800 oil seal removal

Hi, Most seals like that have a metal outer case and a resilient inner seal element. That is one unit, replaced together. Often a "hook" shaped tool is used to reach thru the resilient seal parts and grab the outer ring and pull the whole unit out. Often need to coax it a little from around the...

Kubota B7100HST-D adding lower radiator hose engine heater **UPDATE

Yes, usually agree. I don't think the side panel will go on with it to the side, and I think the top position would hit the upper block. I'll get a better look with the side panel back on.. Can probably rotate it with clamps backed off and no pressure in system.. without loosing coolant...

Kubota B7100HST-D adding lower radiator hose engine heater **UPDATE

..And a REALLY good battery :-) GLAD to hear THAT! A good battery maintainer that keeps it at 13.6V all night (I like THIS one) makes the biggest difference. I have those on 2 cars and 2 trucks and they start in the RealCold in Vermont. Maybe even in Idaho..

    B7100 HST-D charging

GOOD question. Well of course. "It Depends"... :) What it depends ON is the electronics question.. Most regulation systems have some chip that has to start up for anything to work. Usually there is some internal voltage regulator for the voltage regulator. IF that runs off the battery...

Kubota B7100HST-D adding lower radiator hose engine heater **UPDATE

Hi Everyone, OK after some research and forum searching I have installed a coolant heater in the lower radiator hose of my B7100HST. This is a 600 watt heater with 1.25 inch diameter hose connections. (There are many such heaters that are 1.5 inch diameter and many of the newer Kubota...

Kubota B7100HST-D access to tighten the fan belt... SOLVED....

Hi Guys, SORRY. False Panic.. The holding bolt size is 17mm. I was afraid the open end wrench was slipping off at that angle and would mess up the bolt head. I aligned it best I could and forced it and it moved OK... The adjustment bolt is 12mm and those nice ratchet-combination wrenches...

    B7100 HST-D charging

Most "dead" batteries put out at least half their nominal voltage even with very small loads. Many voltage regulators will not start working unless some voltage is supplied. And some (older?) one could be damaged by running with no battery at all. Connect any old 12V battery, jump start the...

How about some 140w gear oil in the front diff?

Yeah, I had to look it up too.. Interesting and actually valuable to understand. At the risk of too many words: ----- Tribology Tribology is the science of interacting surfaces in relative motion. It encompasses the study of friction, lubrication, and wear between surfaces in contact 1 2 .Key...

    JoeSmith123 location...your guess?

Sigh... Everything is relative... Couple of my friends I met in Egypt were refugees from the civil war in South Sudan, at 10 to 14 years old, in a camp in Kenya, with no wallet and little food. But they learned stuff by themselves and never stopped.. Some of us who were young scroungers and...

    JoeSmith123 location...your guess?

Because "Joe" is an interesting character and we have witnessed or heard many of his (different) ideas. I have met many Interesting Characters, some of them 'famous' , and I feel I have absorbed a lot that matters.. far more than I ever would have discovered talking to myself.

    JoeSmith123 location...your guess?

Yemen?? Maybe.. I've been in a boat yard south of Jazan, Saudi Arabia a very short distance from Yemen. It had the same background of metal roofing, and SAND. I've lived for a few years in countries that were mostly Sand. Lots better than Mud... I've seen people working on the sidewalk...

Hi Everyone, Take a look at Kubota Engine Discovery|Kubota Corporation Lots of history of the development of the engines we run.... Interesting that there were Japanese characters on many engine parts, but the flywheel always said KUBOTA IRON WORKS in English.
