I have a L3901 and never noticed any hissing sounds that I can remember. It has the normal whining of the hyro but that's it. I'd beinterested in knowing whats causing that sound on your's. I very rarely let mine idle though.

Anyone know of any armrest that will work on a L3901 the dealer claims there are none listed for it but the seat looks there are 3 points on each side of the seat for brackets. I'd also like to know if a draft control is available for this machine I couldn't find anything on Messick's parts site.

I pull a Land Pride 35-90 behind my L3901 and have always run it at 540 pto speed on the tach haven't had any problems yet. Owners manual says run at 540 I doubt you're saving much fuel unless you're running it much slower and I wouldn't think that would be to good on the mower or tractor.

The LA525 loader is pretty weak for the L3901 I have one and it's the only thing I don't like about the tractor.

Stihl 026 pro is my favorite saw but I run my Stihl 441 most of the time for firewood cutting and have a big boy backup for the big stuff.

I Cerakoted mine in the E-120 (Smoke) color and when I wipe it off I use a paper towel with brake cleaner it dries instantly and when you put it back into the oil it almost lights right up where it's on the stick.:)

I know what you mean I wouldn't think the 14.9 width of the rear tire would change that ratio as long as the diameter (height) is the same as the 11.2 or am I thinking incorrectly here?
