Did you check your owners manual? From looking at the owners manual there is no seperate hydraulic tank or dipstick listed. Alot of tractors use the transmission tank as both the transmission fluid and hydraulic fluid tank.

Sounds like it may be a bearing going bad check everything that the engine fan belt drives. For example alternator/ dynamo, idler pully and fan. Any bearing play would indicate a bad bearing or grittiness when you turn it by hand.
