    Diesel can fit

Yep, I see your point. I buy cheaper off road diesel (dyed) so I would not be able to use that in my truck.

    Diesel can fit

Yep, saw those. Pricey when compared to Jerry can though. Guess I can have convenience or money in my wallet, but not both, lol. As mentioned, raising can up ( step ladder, pallets ) could work with siphon. Or maybe raise can in fel bucket and then siphon with long hose? Build a shelf on a...

    Diesel can fit

Agree. Hate trying to juggle a heavy can while trying to depress "safety" valve to allow flow while trying to keep spout on target. I take cap off completely and use D cell battery cheapo pump from Harbor Freight.

Thinking that's wherec the term Jerry rigged came from as well.

    Diesel can fit

I know this is a trivial post, but discovered today that a 5 gallon gerry can of diesel fits perfectly on the step of the L6060. Does require keeping a knee pressed up against the can while using battery pump to fill the tank. Sure beats trying to pour by hand in the cold.

Carry all / ballast box fabrication

Only long enough for the carry all, ballast box, etc. 2-3 feet? I have a Land Pride FEL pallet fork (3000lbs capacity). But when I mount the front end snowblower, it is time consuming enough so I'll leave it on the front end for the season. Hence the thoughts regarding using the 3 pt hitch for...

Carry all / ballast box fabrication

Thanks guys. A point of clarification. I took this pic from the Homestead implement website. I own the multi receiver hitch shown but not the quick hitch. If I cut and pin 2x2 tubes in each of the lateral receiver slots as Jay suggested, I will have a "pallet fork" type of arrangement. I can...

Carry all / ballast box fabrication

Hello welders and fabricators. I want to weld up a carry all/ballast box that will attach to my adjustable cat 2 3 pt receiver hitch on a L6060. I've drawn a crude pic of what the base of the frame might look like. I'd use 2x2 square tube to fit into the lateral receivers as well as the option...

    Really?

Many bee products have been reported to have health benefits. This includes honey, propolis, royal jelly, apitherapy (intentionally getting stung), inhaling air passed through hives, pollen, etc. Of these, only honey has demonstrated health benefits in well designed studies ( used in wound care...

    L6060 Operating RPM's

Sorry. Seems I have 2 logins and posted under wrong one. Talking about L6060. How do I eliminate my old sign in name? Thanks guys.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Thanks for the tip... would not have thought to do that. @$#@$%& mice!! They have taken residence in my chipper, truck, cars previously. I have a variety of traps and poisons set up. I have the most success with peanut butter as bait and the old fashioned wooden spring traps. Sticky traps work...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yes! It pains me to leave it outside but carpenter friend expects we can finish lean-to by Thursday. Then move the splitters, generator, chipper, etc. out of shed and new baby gets to be covered and dry.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

No worries. Those are just braces to hold the wall up. Plenty more rafters, collar/rafter ties, purlins, joist hangers and roof panels to go yet. Was happy to make some progress before the snow flies tonight.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I didn't do anything on my tractor today but I did do something for my tractor. Started to frame lean-to move stuff out of shed to make room for the new baby.

    Tractor "school"

Thanks gang. As always, great advice all around. I appreciate the depth and breadth of knowledge of this forum's members. I certainly understand recommendations to avoid hills but my NH woodlot is straight uphill both ways ;). Backing up hills makes sense but driveway is long so not practical in...

    Tractor "school"

Ok, I know this is a question that will get me razzed. After seeing multiple reports. posts and pics discussing/showing various tractor accidents, I wonder if there any tractor training schools or courses that cover basic safety and operating procedures. I have reviewed multiple videos and...

    Keeping the cab clean

We salute you Jay as a real man. As for me, I'm tired of having the wind shift when I'm snow blowing and pelting me with stinging shards of ice. I look like the abominable snowman; frostbitten, wet and cold. First winter with a cab. Looking forward to it. I will surrender my man card if...
