I al learning how to photograph lacrosse as our team learns to play in their first season. We both have a steep learning curve! I am glad I am safely on the sidelines with this sport. Rodger

    Thoughts on financing

Those offers are more likely to disappear as the cost to Kubota corp goes up with rising interest rates. I ordered my F2690 with 72" deck in June and it was delivered in December. No problem with dealer honoring the agreed upon price for the combo but zero percent had fallen from 36 to 24...

Anyone Ever Run a 12K PTO Powered Generator on a B6000

A tractor PTO driven generator avoids another engine to maintain but the kind of weather that creates the need for a generator often creates the need for a tractor with loader/blade/snow blower and it can't do both at once. The tractor also needs to have plenty of horsepower and a fast response...

First time mowing with new F 2690

After spending around 10 hours for the last two days clearing up storm debris with my chainsaw and Deere 955 with loader, I finally had the chance to mow my 5 acre property for the first time with my new F 2690. I love the cut quality and it is definitely faster than using my Deere 955 with its...

Took a break from using the chainsaw and loader to clean up storm debris to take some photos of the cardinal who was watching me work. About another hour of limb removal and I will be using my new Kubota F2690 to mow grass for the first time :) Rodger

Kubota recommends being easy on the tractor the first 50 hours (should I even mow?)

Unloaded idle for a long period of time is NOT the way to warm up a diesel, leads to wet stacking and other ills. Let it idle at moderate speed (around half or rated or slightly more) for a minute to get the fluids circulating and then put it under MODERATE load to warm up. It is the same...

A bit of R&R this week.

Congratulations on a great marriage! And I am glad you enjoyed beautiful Ocean Springs, MS. I grew up in nearby Gulfport and spent 26 years on the coast. Rodger

    GPS Trackers

Solar panel, battery, and inverter will easily power a loud alarm system; any decent alarm system runs on battery backup anyway. You will find that having a limited source of 120 VAC is useful at times. Real time tracking is not at all robust at the lower cost end of the spectrum; most systems...

A good reminder that I need to put out the feeder soon as we alternate between snow and warm! That is a beautiful photo! Rodger

We probably saw the end result of some of your welding craftsmanship in Portland :) It is gorgeous there and the University of Portland is a great fit for Anna and her academic interests but it is a LONG way from Illinois! However I don't mind flying out to see her and it is nice that she...

Thanks! Timberline was in the plans but because of a major winter storm warning starting the next afternoon with 60 MPH+ wind and an additional 2 to 3 feet of snow, we spent the night in Government Camp and then headed for the coast. It would have been fun to stay at Timberline during a winter...

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

I flew out to visit my daughter during her spring break at the University of Portland and except for delayed flights resulting in missed connections that caused me to go 37 hours without sleep on the trip home, it was a great experience. From the snow at Government Camp to the Oregon beaches...

Easier way of pulling down ROPS for storage

Kubota may feel the ROPS folding needs to be faster/simpler with the F series mowers. My F2690 folds quickly; unscrew tension knobs a turn, remove cotter key, pull pin and fold. The knob supplies enough tension through a plate to prevent any slack/rattle in the system. Rodger

    Fried ECU

Connecting a jump voltage source to a machine with a dead battery can create an extremely high voltage transient but at least in the automotive world they are pretty well protected against this type of event. A healthy battery will clamp any spikes to a nominal amount more than the battery...

    Vented L3901 front axle.

GM uses a similar capped breather on a lot of their light duty rear axles and they are prone to sticking in both the open and closed positions. I switched to a traditional barb and hose style setup with my 2014 Cadillac ATS which is known for leaking axle seals. When it was a couple of years...

Tractor PTO Shaft - Hard to turn - is that normal?

It sounds like Kubota applies a brake to all PTO shafts when not in use. When I set my Deere 955 to rear or mid, the PTO shaft not selected will freewheel and only in the both position are both braked. You may find it easier for implements like tillers to hook up the three point and lift it...

    Any other f series owners?

My F 2690 was delivered with 72" rear discharge deck during a snowstorm in December. I am looking forward to using it this summer and retiring my Deere 955 with 72" mid mount deck from mowing duty so that its FEL can stay on all of the time. Rodger
