    BX2350 Running Warm

You're over reving. The MMM only requires 3050rpm engine speed for 2500 deck rpm. Knock the revs back . Just because these supermini blocks can hit 3600rpm , doesn't mean that's how it should be abused. I live in a hot climate and the radiator really isn't large enough for the machine . If I...

    WAY Too Much Gas!

You're not alone . Mine did the same and was also a stuck float needle. It's not uncommon on this Kohler base range carby which is susceptible to ethanol/sugar contaminants forming in the chamber . My Dealer had 9 returns ! How many hours on this engine ? Use fuel conditioner and turn off the...

    BX1860 Overheating Issue???

So now the lemon moves down the food-chain and looks for a home that doesn't hassle the Dealer . Glad you're sorted out , but the problem will soon be some other person's tractor . I wonder what the problem they couldn't rectify cheaply , actually was ............. Could have been an engine...

    Roll Bar Noise

Put me out of my misery ! Go listen to another BX and tell me it's the same , then I'll quit hassling you ;) Until then , I'm not convinced .............

    Roll Bar Noise

History lessons ....... I often fish-back through old threads and ask for an update . You can sometimes find it's the OP who thinks we're no longer interested in the fix and how it's progressing. I do that alot on LR3 forums ; diffs , tranfercases , air susp , 4.4V8 problems blah, blah . Some...

    Roll Bar Noise

You're being told rubbish . Mine's reasonably quiet at 75hrs ( 1 year ) as it was from new. Go listen to another one for comparison !

    Roll Bar Noise

That's alot of transmission noise at stationary . Go to the Dealer and ask to try another BX##60 for comparison. At 3000rpm and hot or cold , mine is much quieter when just sitting there ............ Your driveline-creep can be rectified by lithium grease ( NOT moly. ) pumped through the HST...

    Avoid "CJ-4" Oil in New L3800 ???

I use CL-4 oil . These low diesel fuel pump pressure ( 1800ish psi ) produce alot of soot , and CL4 oil has extra detergent to suspend it. :) This doesn't change the price , but does require careful label reading to find in the Auto store. I bought this yesterday , on special...

BX wheel spacers - Pro and Con???

If you're running a MMM , it'll need to be a 60" deck so that the skid wheel housings clear the rear tyres. I prefer the solid spacers ; those you've found look "cheap". http://www.bro-tek.biz/BX-Wheel_Spacer_Instruction.pdf Unless you're side-on on a 30 degree plus slope , it won't roll...

    Oil filters

So the price difference between a prop. and generic engine oil filter changed yearly would buy you a ....... coffee ................................. or save you a 1000th of property tax or 1000th of medical insurance ......

    UDT Fluid

Why don't you run CL grades ? These have high detergent and zinc levels for non particulate exhaust systems. I can't help but think that obsession with sythetics whilst forgetting what the oil is for , is clouding analysis. 5w is very thin for standard engines.

    UDT Fluid

UDT is just 20w UTTO . When you get into SUDT and the JD stuff , it becomes proprietary blends that are different .

    Oil Filter

It's a Kohler SV720 Courage engine and their filters are cheap. Many makers ; check Ebay etc for prices/kits. $8 or so ......... What do you think of that engine ?

Using my BX 24 on a slope

Two inch rear wheels spacers are the go . 26/12/12 are the major market for these products. Heaps of people make these . JD only have 1.1/4" thickness set , but that's for snow chains on an AWS X series. http://www.bro-tek.biz/BX-Wheel_Spacer_Instruction.pdf The danger is turning around on a...

Kubota BX 24 (400 hours) Overheating!!

The screen is really rubbish IMO. The fan sucks up grass-dust from the base of the assem. Check the radiator ; pulling out the battery is an easy access for good view. With a MMM , I've got to pull compacted grass off the rad every 5 hours ! Merry Christmas to you.:)

GR2110/ no power to front wheels

The Glide-Steer cables cut drive to a left or right rear wheel ( depending on a minimum turn to activate the "effect" ) only whilst turning the fronts . Since you're lost power to the fronts " before the prop shaft " , it maywell be a transmission connection that's failed. Off to the Dealer...

    Fuel choices for Diesel- ramifications

50:50 is waaaaaaaaay too much kerosene ! You only need quart in that tank . I ran a gallon in a whole tank of derv on LandRovers in Scotland during bad winters . That was fine . It's not a fuel substitute ...........
