The PTO switch connects to the coil of the PTO safety relay. Either the switch is stuck/defective or the relay is. You'll have to check them out with an ohmmeter.

Dieseldude.. The agron mix is plenty good for any mig body work. You could use plain CO2 but the welds won't be as pretty. I've used both and prefer the mix. I think it makes a stronger weld as well. BTW...... no one brazes anymore I'm aware of. At least not anyone in the business...

Age and metal fatigue are what comes to mind. Just outside the bearings is the highest stress point (IMHO). After 34 years or so, if it's been worked hard I'm not sure you can hardly fault it. Should be able to find a replacement in a tractor graveyard.

yep.... it'll only activate around freezing and at that you'll have to watch to see the indicator. I've never had it get colder than the 20's here since I've had mine and it'll only come on for perhaps a couple seconds then.

Either you're not charging or the battery is toast. Try charging the battery via battery charger and see if it holds the charge. If so you have a charging problem, if not then it's the battery.

In my opinion.... the 50 hr. oil changes may well be the most important ones of the machines life. It rids the machine of the initial machining/assembly and break-in particles. It cost me (3 years ago) right at $200 for all the oils for the 50 hr. and I'd do it again.
