I shouldn't complain about how other people treat their stuff

Looks like I misunderestimated [/yogiberra] the cost. I'm at $410 on materials and 6 hours of labor with at least 2 more hours, probably 3. Got the new lights installed, need to wire them and then do the fabrication on the railing and weld on the fenders. I only charge $30/hr because A) I'm an...

I shouldn't complain about how other people treat their stuff

Oddly enough, he's a highly respected home builder. Builds a lot of high end 7 figure plus homes.

I shouldn't complain about how other people treat their stuff

@chim : That's exactly the same sort of box I build around the tail lights on this trailer. Apparently they managed to back into something just right to smash the lights. Same guy has an older plow truck. I've replaced both mirrors multiple times, and the tailgate twice and I see...

I shouldn't complain about how other people treat their stuff

cuz it makes me money, but DAY-um some people shouldn't be allowed to operate equipment. My neighbor/friend Dale the Builder - and his ham-fisted crew - are a steady source of repair projects. He dropped off a 5x8 trailer for "some repairs" yesterday. Tongue jack - missing. Lights -...

I watch John's videos faithfully. The guy has more patience than I by several orders of magnitude. I'd have dynamited some of the stuff he's fixed.

    Hunting and game posts

More than three years ago - October 2021 - I posted here about a bobcat eating my chickens. After getting the appropriate tag from the game warden, I gave it to my daughter who wanted to get it mounted. It spent a couple of years in her game freezer waiting for a slot at the taxidermist...

    Need Advice -

I'm not sure where that rant came from. At no point did I suggest maxing anything out or encourage a newbie to "push the envelope". In fact, I don't encourage ANYONE to take risks. I will admit I didn't specifically state to be sure the 3 point is adjusted correctly for the implement...

The edge tamers will help keep it from digging in. That can be a double-edged sword, sometimes you WANT the bucket to dig. Not sure how easy they are to install/remove. Not a huge fan of spacers, they put a lot of stress on axles and axle bearings. Technique is more effective: 1. Go...

    Snowblower advice needed

I have found that the "required horsepower" is padded pretty heavily in most cases. I ran a 5 foot brush cutter very successfully with a 17 PTO HP tractor. IIRC, the "required horsepower" for that cutter was stated as closer to 30. I suspect you'll find it'll run the 74 inch blower nicely...

If there are X ways to do something, X-1 of them are wrong.

Yeah, I started washing my face, next thing I knew I was washing the back of my neck!

If there are X ways to do something, X-1 of them are wrong.

I built this Franken-tractor from a John Deere 455 running gear with a Shibaura diesel replacing the blown up Yanmar. It has a slow leak in one tire so I decided to fire it up and pull it out of the barn and up to the shop to blow that tire up. I've had it on a battery tender and expect it...

OK..... Who the heck is responsible for this 3D printer craze??????

Welcome to the club :D. I use mine mostly for printing 1:64 and 1:25 scale stuff for my models. What CAD software are you using?

I have a Sabre Samurai Cutter for sale

I had one briefly on my B2650. The flow rate was...adequate...but the machine itself didn't even come close to living up to the hype. The knives appeared to be made of aluminum and bent easily jamming the machine. The company was of absolutely NO help. I sold it cheap to a guy who was...

Ah. Shouldn't be much of a problem for a welder to fab up the brackets.
