Plow snow before ice? AND asphalt vs gravel strategy?

I took the BH77 off the back to make the tractor lighter. Easier to pull out of the ditch when I slide off the driveway. I put the scraper blade on in its place. At least with it I can drop it to give some resistance. I have the R14 tires which are better than the turfs that I had on the...

Plow snow before ice? AND asphalt vs gravel strategy?

Last week my 4000 ft driveway was a sheet of ice. Managed with 4 x 4 truck as it was well below freezing. Now it has 5 inches of snow so I made single track. Hopefully with storms coming there will not be too much freezing rain. Whatever I end up with after the storms I just hope it will...

B7200D Tractor looking for a Rear Grade Blade

You would have to have a lot of additional weight on a b7200 to keep it going straight with a 60” rear blade just angled without been offset. Tractor is way too light. Very light grading only.

    LX2610 Hazards

If you do not like the taillights flashing when the hazards are on just disconnect or cut the wire going to the bulb socket that supplies that part of the filament in the bulb. These are still the older bulbs like an 1157. Hopefully the flashing speed stays the same. I wish the lamps on my...

Fixing hole in side of block

Because of what you are going through to get this tractor repaired. If you have diesel to run the tractor it is too bad that there is no diesel driven electric welder available. The cost of the gas for the torch must be expensive as well.

Fixing hole in side of block

Does Joe have access to electric power to run a welder? I would look through previous posts but that would take a year. Even a basic A/C welder would work better. I have nightmares if I read his posts before bedtime. Otherwise, I commend him for staying with it with limited resources.

Help Me Understand Hydraulics: BX2200 and LA211 Loader

If the chute will not rotate when you fully snap the lever to the right, then you have other issues. I was puzzled by this myself when I first got my LX as my B7200 did not have the re-generative feature as explained in post #3.

    Mower spindle rebuild

That is what I thought. Probably a shortage due to high demand. Not everyone has the equipment or inclination to overhaul the originals. Bought my lathe in 1974 and has paid for itself many times over.

    Mower spindle rebuild

Exactly! I wonder how many engineering hours went into making these unserviceable. Using the softer alloy along with unusually fine threads. In the 60 plus years of working on mechanical equipment I have never seen anything like it.

    Mower spindle rebuild

I have an Ariens IKONXL60 zero turn mower with just over 300 hours on it. Had one of the spindles start to get noisy last summer and upon investigation found a second one getting tight. Found that instead of using Loctite on the bearing retainer nut as in the past they now use a retainer made...

Kubota Rotary Tiller FL1000 ASSY JOINT UNIVERSAL length.

An extension would certainly be the simplest solution. I had to add one to mine to be able to install a PTO pump. I think it added about 4 inches to the length. The only issue is that it adds a bit more slop in the driveline as they have a small amount of play. When I am hooking up a driveline...

tire broke seal and fluid came out

For this reason, I am considering purchasing an aftermarket tire pressure monitor. Seems to be a lot of them to choose from on Amazon.

Newbie struggling with MX5200 OPC switch in the cold

Welcome to the forum. Wondering if someone sprayed water in the area while washing the tractor prior to your purchase and inadvertently got water into the switch. Might have to remove it and try to get the water out with compressed air or whatever works. Have not looked at mine to see what...

    Big U-Joint

This is what I have always known a CV joint to be. At least in the automotive industry. Not sure if they would use this style in large industrial applications. Making a rubber boot large enough and strong enough could be an issue. Besides, how much grease would you need.

    My new chain box.

Mounted mine on the loader frame. Had to change the pin retainer a bit so I could open the lid. Used existing holes in frame.

    Carplay Front/Rear Dashcam in Cab

I still have to hook up the camera that I got last fall. Just a suction cup screen mount to the side door with the camera mounted under the cab so I can see the position of the stump grinder. I just installed an oil cooler for the pto driven hydraulic system that I put on the BH77 so I will do...

    Snowblower and gravel roads

That is the one thing that the factory front mount blower can't do. You cannot adjust the angle at which the blower enters the snow. Years ago, when I retrofitted a blower housing to my old B7200 I made it adjustable as shown in the picture.

Best advice wanted for blading snow

That tractor is way too light to be trying to push any substantial amount of snow to the side without it pushing the tractor around. I only use my rear blade in reverse on my LX2610 to fine tune the surface with the blower on the front. If I was to use the rear blade in the forward position, I...

    My snow removal/traction dilemma

The one major hill on our driveway has a ditch on one side and a long steep slope on the other side ending up with trees as shown in picture. If there is a snow fall that I can still drive through I will just stay in the same tracks thus leaving undisturbed snow up to around six inches deep...
