    HST Transmission Oil

Thanks. We've had minus 30 F a few times lately, but -40 shouldn't be an issue.

What Is Correct Procedure / Bucket Position When Parked In Garage

I wish I had cement to put it down on. I do have a couple of cinder blocks that I set it on in the barn. Mainly so I have a mark to help me get close to the wall without hitting it. I need to remember to tilt it down now that winter is here, so that if we have a warm day the snow will slide out...

    HST Transmission Oil

Yeah, I was mainly wondering about condensation with air in the jug and temp swings. I can keep it in the house, I guess. Then it would actually pour if I had to add some on a below 0 day. Thanks,

    Tractor sizing

I really like what Paul L said, especially about the size. I just bought my Kubota to replace a JD 3020, which had the power I needed, but was too darn big for my small property and a have a Ford 4000 which is the perfect size, but I couldn't (easily) put a loader on it. After having the JD...

    HST Transmission Oil

Possible Thread Highjack: Is there a problem with keeping a partially empty 5-gallon jug of S-UDT around, given temperature swings of +90 to -20? I just got my 2012 HST, and don't need any fluid but want some on hand for when it does. I'm not anticipating a fluid change $oon, so will...

How cold does it get in Missouri?

Intermittent slow loader. 3-point works fine (maybe)

I was hoping it might be a linkage issue--the rubber boot that covers the opening for the joy stick was off when I looked at the tractor, and then again when it was delivered. Maybe somebody was messing in there (or maybe I didn't get it back on very well). I have a kubotabooks WSM for the...

New to diesel -- what don't I know?

I was just joking about that part. I'm also having a loader issue, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be better than the 60 year old gas tractor. I guess I need to learn to use emojis I do have a barn, which is typically a few degree warmer than outside. I also have a block heater. I'm not to...

Intermittent slow loader. 3-point works fine (maybe)

Hi all, This is an LA854 loader on an L5740. The loader normally works OK, with the joystick corners not seeming to be in quite the right place, but the tractor is new to me. Every so often the boom controls are really slow, yet the bucket seems to tip at the correct speed. If the...

New to diesel -- what don't I know?

Thanks Mark, it's actually a perfect time. Temps are supposed to be 33 F in town tonight and I'm normally 4-5 degrees cooler. I was going to put some winter power service (white jug) in this evening and idle for 5 minutes before it cools down, but not cut in any #1 yet ( we're expecting a...

Good info. I'm almost full now and will start w/ the #1. I work at the college and just got real busy, but I'd hoped to do a few hours of blading and maybe use the tractor to spray thistles before it gets cold. Right now I have a spray rig that I hang out of the back of an old pickup, but...

    new 3 point hook ups

My ('64?) JD 3020 had them and I'm pretty sure my dad's 3010. Mind had been rusted solid since about 1969, so being able to actually use them was a huge bonus on my "new" Kubota. Another shortcoming I noticed with the Kubota economy lift arms is that the ones I looked at had turnbuckles to...

The right Kubota for me - please help

I'm new here myself, and do not know Kubota all that well, but congrats on your new place. And welcome.

New Grease Gun On The Way.

Has anybody tried the M12 Milwaukee? I have DeWault 20V batteries and a single Milwaukee M12 tool so would go with the smaller Milwaukee or the larger DeWault. I never even new that there was such a thing as an electric grease gun when I started this thread, but now I absolutely need one!

brand new tractor, warranty repair; waiting 4 weeks, still hasn't been picked up

I was wondering if I had a PTO driven tiller if I'd even need a tooth bar? Till first, then scoop up 2-3 inches per pass (or maybe 5 of that sandy stuff)?

brand new tractor, warranty repair; waiting 4 weeks, still hasn't been picked up

I get the safety concerns, but that is still an impressive ditch. Does that represent all 77 hours on the tractor, or just some? Which type of tooth bar do you have on the FEL bucket?

    1999 L2500 Engine oil capacity

I wold not be comfortable with an inch too high on the dipstick. If you don't have a "mighty vac" or similar to suck it out of the top I would crack the drain plug and try to drop a little.

New to diesel -- what don't I know?

Howdy Neighbor! Keeping in mind I mostly grew up where +5 was a very cold night, and I've been running gas tractors since moving here so as to not mess up, I have a few more questions: 1) I'm assuming #1 is winter deisel, #2 is summer deisel/heating oil? 2) When will smaller gas stations in...

    1999 L2500 Engine oil capacity

OEM filter? I'm brand new on Kubota, but the manuals for many of my cars and motorcycles aren't too accurate with capacities. Hopefully somebody with that same tractor will chime in. I'd suggest sucking the excess out and keeping it right on the "full" mark. Depending on the engine (again...
