What do you use for a welder?

Sounds like your fixed D2, those Millers are nice machines. They are easy to get in and out of a pickup. My SA is not so easy but that flat head 4 cyl purring through the straight pipe is really sweet, makes it worth the effort! 6010 is the rod for rusty metal, I had an old welder tell me you...

What do you use for a welder?

I weld as a hobby and buy and restore welders to sell and keep for my man cave. I have a Lincoln MP210 and really like it, very smooth stick and mig arc. I've restored a 1966 Lincoln SA200 engine drive. The AC/DC shop stick welder I have now is a Miller Dialarc 250 but I've had the old Classic...

    Anyone wax their tractor?

I have a 2006 L3830HST and it is washed and waxed on a regular basis. It boils down to dollars and cents to me. When or if I ever decide to sell or trade it I am sure I will be rewarded with more money in my pocket. I am meticulous on doing all the maintenance and documenting it but if a tractor...

    ZD 326 Hydr levers

When I traded up from my ZD21 to a 326 I noticed the same issue. I asked the mechanic at the dealer who does set up on all their ZD units how to fix the problem. He pointed out the pivot bolts on both sides at the bottom of the steering levers that I loosened slightly. That made all the...

Change Filters or not? Rotella oil?

Any money and time spent on preventive maintenance is not wasted in my opinion. Rosella is great oil for Diesel engines, I use full synthetic in my 3830HST. I changed fluid and filters at 50 hours, it just made me feel better. I plan on my grandsons to wear this out long after I am gone!

    ZD 28 Broken Axle

If the dealer says they can't fix it without the Kubota rep authorizing an out of warranty repair it can sit forever. The dealer can only do it and hope they get their money back from Kubota. If you have the repairs made and request a reasonable reimbursement from Kubota you might have a 10%...

    ZD 28 Broken Axle

I have a buddy that had a axle break on his ZD28 the other day while mowing his yard. It broke between the housing and wheel flange with no damage to the housing. I did a search and a post turned up on another forum about this problem with several ZD28s, and Kubota paid for the parts to repair...

    No electric power - ZD21

On my ZD21 I found that under the ignition switch there is a big connector plug. There is one wire that is the main power feed, I don't remember the color but it is bigger than the other wires. I found that it had pulled back in the plug socket and was not making contact. Unplug this connector...

    Bush hog speed .

Unless conditions require it I run my L3830 at about 2200 RPM, that makes the PTO speed less than 540 but it still does a good job mowing and the engine is not screaming unnecessarily

    Operating the Engine Heater

I have a timer on my powerstroke and set it to come on about 3 hours prior to me needing the truck in the morning. I will do the same for my 3830 prior to needing it for snow removal.

6 more hours to first service

I am only speaking for myself now, I would not consider using off brand hydraulic oil in my L3830HST. This summer it will be due another change and I will bite the bullet and get 17 gallons on UDT2 Steve

    Best RPM's for bush hogging

On my L3830 I run 2100-2300 RPM when mowing with my 72" bush hog. It does a great job at that speed

    First 50 hr service

I agree, I changed all fluids and filters on both my L3830 and ZD21 when their 50 hour service came up. As far as warranty concerns go, I create a service log and document all service or repair work on my equipment for the life of it along with receipts for all parts and fluids. I recently...
