Help with finding "quality" valve handle boots

Thanks for that, will do that for mine too!

Noob operator queetions about PTO and creeper gears

T'other day when I was moving a large log, with a bit of wheelspin/digging in, using the creeper gear and I remembered this thread. I thought about other times I used creep speed when blading and hauling, in forward and reverse, with no problems and I wondered, was I just lucky that I hadn't...

Help with finding "quality" valve handle boots

@trikepilot that looks like the same as my Chinese brand. Same problem - the boot didn't last long, the valve has been great. If its the same... the handle has a 10mm dia shaft, the joystick base is nearly square -60x65 with rounded corners and the lip above the base the boot fits over is 2mm...

Noob operator queetions about PTO and creeper gears

Thanks Simon. I don't know whether the slight grind is a deal or not, I just know that for the few tractors/users of this model that I'm aware of, no-one has been able to eliminate it even with experimenting with the adjustment. Sometimes, if I know I'm going to be using the PTO immediately...

    M7030 Front Wheel Leaking Oil

Welcome to that club :-) M4500DT WSM is also misleading about the front axle. I sought and received advice from this forum that helped avoid wrecking something while dismantling. Sorry to hear that. I was fortunate in that I noticed very slight irridescence in the oil from the front wheel...

M4500DT front diff input shaft and axle pivot

(This may also be relevant to M5500DT and M7500DT) The front axle pivots aren’t greaseable in stock form and when they wear, they put the front diff input shaft (pinion shaft.. whatever) out of alignment with the prop shaft. This accelerates the wear of the splines on the input shaft, the...

Noob operator queetions about PTO and creeper gears

Hi Russell, I think I heard or read something similar but can't find anything about that in the operating manual. Do you know where that might have come from?

Noob operator queetions about PTO and creeper gears

With my M4500DT there has always been a slight graunch when engaging live PTO from neutral, even after playing with the PTO clutch engagement, I believe that this is normal. Be interesting to know if anyone has silent engagement. Creep speed selector is just a 2 ratio gear selector with...

    M4500DT / M5500DT / M7500DT Front Axle Kingpin Drive Assembly Overhaul

I stripped my M4500DT kingpin assembly because after approx 5500 hours the seal between the bevel gear case and front wheel case was weeping and I’d noticed iridescence in the oil when draining the RH front wheel case. In the overhaul process I found confusing or incorrect details in the Kubota...

    L4200 4wd front axle bearings

@luebb I hadn't come across axially loadable cylindrical roller bearings until now, interesting proposition. Seems to be a recent design. The information at https://medias.schaeffler.us/en/single-row-cylindrical-roller-bearings-with-cage has a lot of guidance on application. Interestingly...

What model Kubota is this for?

Thanks for asking, it's a question... I don't think its M7500DT, so if not, what is it?

What model Kubota is this for?

My WSM alleges that this front wheel assembly is for an M7500DT. Looking at the M7500DT parts diagram, there are major differences, like the parts drawings show a different location of the kingpin circlip (#12), a spacer separating the #3 bevel gear from the bearing above it, and other features.

    Kubota stopped venting front axle?

True example: M4500DT from late 1970's, front axle not vented, no leaks.

    DU bushings: recommended grease?

The front wheel supports of the M4500DT use 50mm ID DU bushings ( PTFE composite plain bearings, dry bearings). When I dismantled them to service the axle, I found that the bores/mating shafts were lubricated, looked like moly grease or similar dark colour and plenty of it, not running dry...

    Rear Hydraulics

I've never used a hydraulic multiplier so perhaps MtnViewRanch and wsurff can put me right here: if you need to actuate different cylinders - for example adjusting the tilt and angle on your rear blade while operating - I got the impression that it takes extra actions (switching the multiplier...

    Front diff input shaft woe

Thanks, the manual doesn't cover that aspect at all. I suspect whoever serviced it last time left out the double O rings.

    Front diff input shaft woe

Thanks Wolfman, I have now contacted Farmland, wait and see. Do you or anyone else with access to product bulletins know if there was any suggested fix or mod for the spline wear or the axle trunnion pivots? Did Kubota ever revise the spline arrangement on later model tractors as far as you...

    Front diff input shaft woe

The splines on the input shaft are worn almost to stripping point. The local dealer says that the pinion (and crown wheel) are discontinued. They aren't discontinued according to the US parts websites but I can't order from US due to Kubota regional restrictions (and price is eye-watering)...
