The brake switch has both contacts, NO and NC according to schematics. I still do not believe switch being open when brake applied. And there is a bit more than just connecting all switches in series.

Yes, I know it's a different part. What I meant was that I cannot believe that it is open when brake applied. I think it is closed when brake applied.

For a safety function I would imagine the switch closed being safe (brake applied). So is it possible that it is mounted mechanically to be open when...

This is exactly the way it works on my G1900.

That's right. You basically have to power the solenoid (for 8 seconds in my tractor) when power has just been removed through the starter switch. Power can be held with a field effect transistor easily. I just wanted to point that out when you use an off the shelf timer. A simple momentary kill...

I know, I believe that is included in my cost calculation. But, in fairness, I think the potting was done to improve reliability because of vibrations. So I do not believe the potting was done to prevent you from repairing it.

Well, that's what they did. They built a timer and added some safety switch logic. Production cost maybe $30 in quantities, $340 sales price, looks like a good business model to me. ;)

Well, it is happening. Only idea I have is that when the mower is running the oil accumulates in other parts of the drive, possibly through vacuum due to cooling oil and air and lack of venting. When you pull the dipstick this vacuum is removed and the oil flows down where it reaches the dipstick.

Ok, I think this means that the stop solenoid has to be powered all the time for the engine to run. And stops the engine when power is removed. This is better from a fail safe perspective. On my tractor the solenoid has to be powered for a few seconds to stop the engine. Stop solenoid is also...
