    Favorite Degreaser

Thanks for replying. I was thinking it was something recent and I just missed that it happened. Years ago I sprayed some of the Castrol Super Clean on a JD750 LTB and the green paint on the backhoe started to turn yellow. It did remove the caked on grease around the pins though. :) I'm...

    Three Bond equivalents

Glad you found value in the Moly spray. I found similar product over 30 years ago when we used it to solve a critical metal wear issue in a product that had to last at least 30 years. After numerous tests (durability, thermal stress, etc...) and seeing how dramatic the difference was, I...

    Three Bond equivalents

On splined shafts or any other likely metal to metal contact, I like to clean them up real well and use molybdenum disulfide spray. It will go on like spray paint and dry to the touch very quickly. Use your lube of choice as other suggested above and it is almost foolproof. Example of what I'm...

Glad you got it clean! Mixing cleaners is not always a good thing to do, as unfavorable chemical reactions can occur.

    Tisco Alternator Upgrade?

If going the Kubota route, it might be best to start with a wholegoods alternator kit for one of the newer B tractors and modify from there. Why? The individual parts when purchased through the parts counter will be expensive as suggested above. The wholegoods kit will be around $200. They...

B1550 not starting after replacing cylinder head

I'm a bit surprised at the low compression ratio after installing new head and new gasket. When the head was off, were: The piston tops and cylinder walls inspected? Head bolt threads in blocked cleaned out real good to ensure proper clamp load was achieved during the bolt torquing process...

L4240 - FEL won't lift and no HST pedal action

First off I'm glad it was a simple fix and you're back up and running. What made you claim the fluid level was OK in first post? May have lead to others thinking it was something more complex.

    Adding Temp gauge to b7200Hst

Awesome! I even looked at that site before hand. I was thinking the more traditional reducer bushing. It makes sense of the extra mass above the hex as the 3/8" NPT threads are larger than the 16mm. Sounds like the OP is good to go!

    Adding Temp gauge to b7200Hst

It might be an impossible fitting! Stand corrected a few post down. OD of 3/8" pipe is 0.675" 16mm = 0.630" Might be best to go the electrical gauge route. 16mm by 1/4" NPT looks to be as big as you can get. Example: 16mm - 3/8 NPT Reducer Bushing

    New L3301 Hydraulic Leak

Three o-rings are used to seal the metal plate to the manifold. If the bolts are already snug, tightening further is unlikely to help. Perhaps one of the o-rings got pinched during the assembly process.
