I have been around and have been running equipment for over 50 years and if anythings happens to you around the PTO shaft youll wish all safe gaurds were in place. I have a L3830 and the PTO SHIELD is hingded so it tilts up outta the way when hooking up to implements. Be safe in all you do...

Not sure about your tractor but my L3830 has 2 drain plugs, because the drive line for the 4wd runs underneath the oil pan so it sets kinda like a saddle over the drive shaft with a drain plug on either side, just saying stranger things have happened.......Dan
