SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

That’s pretty hot. Although I’ve seen other machines (not running external coolers) hydraulic lines get as hot as you mentioning. I would use a laser thermometer to see exactly how hot then contact Kubota and see what the recommended temp is. I’m running a hydraulic cooler; mine are barely warm...

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

Hi Rodger, thanks for the good input. I’m nit sure what the EGT temp is supposed to be before and after the turbo although, one Kubota dealer said the checked it and checked the turbo oil seal for leaks. They said Jorge were okay. Rodger, Thanks for the great input. 1. One of the dealers noted...

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

Rodger, Thanks for the input. Stuff such as this is good to know. I have a Loftness external cooler on my SCL95. The cooler keeps the hydraulic fluid at a consistent 127-160 degrees when ambient temp is 95+ degrees. When checking the radiators with a laser thermometer, the right side of the...

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

I’m trying to find a rental unit to test the head. I’ve narrowed it down to; when the mulcher runs, it puts a load on the engine. The load caused the heat buildup. Not sure if something is wrong with the engine that’s causing loss of torque, or if the hydraulic’s are causing a load on the...

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

The Loftness external cooler is nearly $10k. I don’t believe mine isn’t helping to keep the machine cool at all. On Tuesday, I’m going to bypass my external cooler to assure that external cooler is not causing the overheating.

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

I lost about a quart of both antifreeze and hydraulic fluid. There is an antifreeze drain hose inside the left rear inspection plate. It is attached to the plate. Loosen to bottom two bolts and remove the top two bolts. Slide the cover upwards. Drain the fluid in a container first. I pulled my...

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

Kubota told me the c This is Mike: please post any findings that you discover with the DPT system. Im currently trying to get mine changed next week. Compression reading were very similar to a new machine compression. I will ask them to check them again and give me the pressure readings. Thanks

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

A SVL95 is the largest SS that Kubota makes. The lostness 71" mulcher was designed for this SS (95hp turbo). this is per Loftness and Kubota

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

This is a very good question. Yes, the injectors were sent out for testing. Three were pushing too much fuel. All four were replaced although, replacing the injectors did not fix the overheating problem.

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

Hi, I’ve been trying to service customers with the machine, running 15 minutes and stopping for 5 minutes. Today I took the radiator in for a complete cleaning and coolant and air flow tests. I’ll post the findings next week when I have time to use the machine. I also purchased a loop for the...

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

I can use any other implement and the SVL95 won’t overheat. Although, if the same head is run on a SVL75 instead of a SVL95, the SVL75 doesn't overheat. SVL75’s doesn’t have a DOT system.

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

Thanks for supplying the group with this dealer troubleshooting guide. The first dealer I sent the machine to said they used the trouble shooting guide and the problem was still present. Although, I’m sure this guide will help someone. Again, thanks fir posting

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

Hi, thanks for participating. I check my hydraulic line with a laser thermometer, and it runs around 128 degrees. Not sure about in the fluid tank. Tomorrow, in going to install a temp sensor in my hydraulic tank although, I can’t fund a Kubota dealer that can tell me what “normal” operating...

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

I can’t speak for others; speaking about my machine, only the coolant is getting hot the hydraulic fluid is staying around 125 to 130°.

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

There are folks on this thread that are trying different viscosity level fluids, but have not had any success. I’m not sure anyone has lowered the antifreeze ratio. At the moment I’m trying some “SuperCool” to see if this helps, but it’s been raining here so, I have not completed the job yet.

SVL95-2S Running Hot with Drum Mulcher (Tighten The Altenator/Fan Belt)

Could you send a link that provides a part number for the AUX fan kit. My machine pushes a ton of air out the radiator. Enough to blow your hair back when standing 3ft away. Thanks

Did replacing the radiator fix the running hot problem? Thanks
