What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Those are SHACKLES, NOT clevises, just saying! You are not alone in incorrectly stating so, I'm in the crane biz and probably 90% of "regular" people call them clevises, but that don't make it right! Google "shackles" and see what comes up...... to prove my point. It's an interesting thing, for...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

An oh so obvious tip: (but it took me years to catch on to it) I often will just drop the rear scraper blade when parking my tractor, in lieu of using the parking brake. But after forgetting to raise it when driving off, and leaving a big divot in my driveway gravel, I finally figured out to...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Not up where I am, but for sure down in the valley in a lot of places, dynamite is one cure for it I'm told. No easy way though!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Part of the fun I've been having is my "new" property (13 years now) has NO ROCKS, except by the creek. My earlier property just 2 miles away was ALL ROCKS, and, I had NO equipment then. Now, with the mini x and the tractor, I am living large, life is so easy.....I dug all the holes for my first...

    Somewhat Disappointed With The FEL

I'm about 5 minutes from going out and using my L3301's FEL to move a bunch of dirt the mini X dug out. In my case, my loader will pick, easily, a heaped full bucket, but with just the 6' scraper blade on the rear, I need to be real careful I'm level when I raise it to dump. If I didn't have...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Took a load of clean fill, excavated with the U25 mini excavator, as part of my project to add onto my pole barn an additional 30' by 13', out to the end of the driveway. Using the tractor to move the 5 ton dump bed trailer around is perfect, and so much easier then using the pickup. I dumped it...

    51 hours, no regen L4701

Thanks, NOT the muffler, got it! Maybe I'm not qualified to mess with it.....where does Kubota hide the ECM would be my next question. I'll take a peek under the hood and see if it jumps out at me.

    51 hours, no regen L4701

I emailed the outfit in Poland, asking if they could set me up with a conversion, along with the know how to do it. They responded with (in English) "First of all send us the photo of the ECM." As I assume that would mean the muffler (someone correct me if I'm wrong please) and it's associated...

    51 hours, no regen L4701

So who's making the trip to Poland?! Maybe I should, and pay them to get educated on how to do it once back in the good old USA. Probably easier to just keep re genning and complain about it! It does my mechanical sense good (and re news my faith in small diesels) to know it CAN happen though.

    51 hours, no regen L4701

"At the worst possible time", indeed! I run both a new (100 hours) L3301 tractor and Kubota U25 mini excavator, and I hugely enjoy NOT having to mess with the regens on the mini. I HATE running at a higher rpm then is actually needed to perform the work, and not being able, without guilt, of...

"Shifting gears" with a hydrostatic transmission

An old post, which verifies for me I am not the only one to find shifting my L3301 HST speed range selector easier with no clutch at all. This was a recent discovery for me, and I searched the site to see if any others had come to the same conclusion, cool.

New kubota orange paint (very close).

A few weeks after buying my new L3301 from a Utah Kubota dealership, I needed some paint. I had welded some chain hooks on my FEL and did some other mods. The price of the "official" Kubota spray paint was about $15.00 with sales tax. For a brief moment, I imagined the dealer would, after me...

    U 25 mini excavator bucket

12", Quick Attach, little use, Kubota made it. I welded a chunk of angle iron to the teeth, I needed to do some scraping, cleaning up a bank, but i just bought a 30" cleanout bucket so don't need it anymore. 5 minutes with a skinny wheel would get the angle iron off it, and the teeth would be...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I do the same, with a 700 gallon tank though, with it's own pump and gen set. It gives me some piece of mind and would give me something to do once the power goes out. I also "cheat" and borrow that stored water to irrigate my trees, and then re fill it in the middle of the night (so my well...

Trailer for the U 25s mini excavator

I am 100% chains on the new purpose built U25 trailer (I have a thread on it's build on the fabrication page) except for the ratchet strap that secures the bucket. One of the best things about "rolling my own" was being able to weld in tie downs exactly where I needed them, rather then working...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

You painted your chain also?! Or did you buy it that way? Yeah, the cheap little plastic box that came with my L3301 is almost an insult by Kubota, what a joke! But it's there, so I use it, while keeping my eye out for the right ammo box. I pulled my finished solar array out of the shop...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I needed a holder upper (for a steel rack I'm fabricating for a neighbors 3.4 KW grid tie solar array)while I changed the rigging on my shops overhead chain fall trolley, the L3301 worked perfectly for this as usual.

    Trailer Tie downs

The main, and about only, drawback with straps is weakening over time from abrasion, and exposure to UV. In my crane biz, I never leave my slings out in the sun, unless working. Chains wear too, but at least are UV resistant. But for a sudden shock, I'll take a sling over a chain, they have...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I use my universal QA forklift frame on the front end, with the forks off. The Titan QA frame has a built in receiver so quick and easy to pop a ball in there. I always have something on the rear end so have yet to use it to pull a trailer.
