Working on a new implement, needle rake

Took the rake out for a test run this week. Does a good job. The needles I used are for a hay turning-thing-what’s-it-called-machine. Not that expansive, about €8 a piece. I want to clear all the roads and fields on the estate I take care off. It’s 20 hectares in total, Most of it is woods and...

Working on a new implement, needle rake

Work in progress. I really hope this will work for clearing old layers of leaves from the trails. Been using the land plane that I made for that last week... Works alright but I hope the needle rake will work better :) Also made a video little clip of the new build land plane in use last week...

Long time no see, but i made a new land plane

To be honest... they are not real hardend steel blades. Just 2mm thick mild steel plates. Gettting proper blades... nah... One blade would be more than 80 euros. 3 mild steel strips is under 15 euros. So I made two extra sets. I will only use this land plane in the woods on sand and dirt roads...

Long time no see, but i made a new land plane

You really do not need a lot. Dril, grinder, simple welder and the will to push trough. I’m not trained by any means. Just go for it. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk

Long time no see, but i made a new land plane

No weights on it. For the purpose that i am using it for i don’t think it really needs weights. I use it in the woods to level sand and dirt roads so i am a bit scared to get stuck on a root. Still in the testing fase :) Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk

    Need quick assistance Landplane build

Thanks guys for the advice. I am glad I asked ***128579; Another question, I see some planes that got the blades under an angle/offset from the frame and some that are just welded at 90 degrees. At the moment I am still cutting the parts. What do you think? Offset or 90 degrees?

    Need quick assistance Landplane build

Hey all, I am on my way to the workshop to start a landplane build today. Got everything sorted accept... I have never seen one up close haha. My question I pretty simple. Do the scrapers (angle profiles) stick out underneath the sides of the frame? And if so, how far would be alright? I...

Early summer... so it’s winter prep here :)

It takes some trial and error but when you master the stacking principle it’s easy. The whole idea behind this stacking method is that you only use the ‘perfect’ blocks for the outside and just dump the weird shaped stuff on the inside. Air circulation from the bottom to the top will dry the...

Just another hobby, old woodworking machines

Hy all, besides riding the old Kubota I got special feelings for old woodworking machines. Old cast iron, to heavy to lift, that kind of stuff. I referbish them and put them in use in my workshop. Last week I restored an old mortiser. See the pica below. Anybody else who does this?

Missing mystery tab on the dash L1802DT (or L235)

Thanks for the info. I am glad to hear it is not going to hurt anything. Here in holland it can freeze but thats getting a bit of a rarity with global warming I suppose. Only had two weeks of frost this year... That means I got a hole to fill with a new feature [emoji846] (That just sounds...
