Sayings you remember from years ago

While cropping tobacco in my early years I would be in the fields with old guys. I would always get to the end of my row first. You were expected to start cropping back to help the old guys but I would at times sit down and wait, being a kid. My Grandfather would always holler at me to get up...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I went to connect to my new tiller with my new quick connect but found that I did not have a full shaft. Guess the delivery guy might have lost it on the way here. I remember him stating all the shafts have to be cut to the setup of each tractor. In his defense he asked if I wanted him to show...

    Assisted suicide?

I did read the reply, and like many others I am glad you continue to communicate. I feel your sincerity, just as I was feeling what I believed to be your despair. Just know we are many that are concerned for you! Never believe no one out here cares no matter the severity life brings. God Bless...

    Assisted suicide?

I started reading this post shortly after Henro placed it. It struck me as very awkward at first but as I read on it felt like a cry for help. I'm new to the site so not familiar with the jest of members and their postings. I care for people and their lives. So I will just state, Henro if you...

    Assisted suicide?

I watched my Father-in-law (12-24-14), Mother-in-law (11-22-15), Mother (3-25-17) pass that way. Not the way I would have preferred. I know the smile my Mother gave me as she slipped away probable was the morphine, but I will aways believe it was, as she had always told me, she was proud of me...

    Craigslist score!

Along with what you have used I generally search Land Pride or Kubota. Usually not much of that on there and if so, it gets snatched up quickly. I also search on the ALL setting rather than just farm.

What does everyone collect or do for a hobby?

I grew up on small farms here in NC, those old barns were everywhere but they are rare to see now. Most are dilapidated. My wife lived in NJ till she was 15, her Dad lost his job and moved here. Her Mom was from here.

What does everyone collect or do for a hobby?

Yes it is! I would hate to show you the ones I found close to our place at the coast, they just bulldozed them to make a RV park. Make a grown man cry!!

    What am I missing?

I checked with my insurance guys I have used for over 30 years when I purchased my new L2501 with loader, backhoe, and 4 implements. Kubota was $80 a month. State Farm was $25 a month, Auto Owners ( my company insurer) $27 a month. Same coverage as Kubota, $250 deductible. Dealer tried to steer...

What does everyone collect or do for a hobby?

Wish the barn was mine, its a couple miles down the road from my place. There was once a very old house in front of it but a tornado in 2011 took out the house. Crazy how it spared the barn. Land just sits vacant now, was told the heir lives up north but cares nothing for the place but will not...

Old tools - - Neat finds....

Love the saw’s!! I have quite a few myself including my Grandfathers 2 man crosscut. My Dad and I used it a lot when I was 12 years old and on up into my 20’s. I was so happy when he bought his Stihl chainsaw. We had some great bonding times in those woods and a serious workout with that...
