Be Gentle - I'm Working On An Idea

I guess I didn't say exactly what I meant in my second to last paragraph. What I meant to say was buy an existing orchard sprayer, discard the pump and tank and fab up a bracket to mount the blower assembly on my 3 point with the pto driving it. Then fab up the ducting and nozzles to the newly...

Be Gentle - I'm Working On An Idea

Sorry this is so long but I have to share all these details so you can understand my project in the planning. We have 6 acres that has a building site up top where our home will go and down low where our winery is currently being built. Between the two is about 3-1/2 acres on a steep hillside...

    Fuel Tank/Pump Charger/Battery Setup

I have a 100 gallon tank with an electric pump. It works great. However, I have to hook it up to the tractor or excavator with alligator clips to power the pump. I am thinking of getting a car battery and a solar 12v charger to run the pump. I only use the pump once every couple of days when...

    Which spreader do I need?

Would one of these seeder/spreaders work for occasional spreading of salt on icy roads? We would only need it for some intersections with steep roads. https://www.ruralking.com/king-kutter-poly-fertilizer-spreader-s-400-p

    Working on the trail

Do some looking at grading scrapers also known as land planes. I had 11 miles of trail to care for at a previous job and it worked flawlessly.

Attachment for trail in the woods

A couple of passes with the scarifier shanks down and the grading scraper tipped forward you won't have those roots.

Attachment for trail in the woods

This is exactly the tool you need. At a former job I was responsible for 11 miles of trails in the woods and wetlands and this is what we used. The problem with rakes and blades is they leave burms on the edges. The box blades require too much fine tuning from the operator. With the grading...

    Question for you guys...

Look at small culvert pipe instead of pvc. It's less expensive when you get in to larger sizes. Schedule 40 and schedule 80 pvc has thick walls because for pressurized systems. Culvert pipe (S&D pipe as well) is designed for water not under pressure and, therefore, is less expensive.

    L4701 Doing Work

Nope, the building will be below the trenches. It is a pressurized system with a pump to move the septic tank effluent up to the drain field.

    L4701 Doing Work

These are drain field trenches. The effluent from our septic tanks will be pumped to these trenches.

    L4701 Doing Work

I'd be dead. That is a steep hill and it will end up being 50 yards of drain rock. With a shovel and wheelbarrow I would, as I said, be dead. LOL

    L4701 Doing Work

Thought I would share a few photos of my L4701 moving drain rock from a pile on our building lot to the drain field. Drain field is a pressurized system with 8-60 foot trenches. They are 3 ft wide and the drain rock is 9" deep so I have about 40 yards of rock to move up the hill. Enjoy the...

    Snow Pusher

Anybody use a snow pusher on their FEL? I've been looking at this one: https://spokane.craigslist.org/hvo/d/skid-steer-snow-pushers-snow-box/6759635653.html

Yes please, can I get a link to that video?

    Somewhat Disappointed With The FEL

Exactly why I posted this. It just doesn't seem right. I will look in to the quick connect with a 3500# pressure gauge to see what I am pushing.

    Somewhat Disappointed With The FEL

Feel free to look up the stats on an L4701 and the LA785 FEL loader with a stock bucket. That is what I have. You seem dead set on proving this is overworking and expecting too much from this tractor. My original post is titled "somewhat disappointed" which is what I am. This is light dry...

    Somewhat Disappointed With The FEL

10 cubic feet of concrete which weighs 1500 lbs.

    This is a correct assumption.

    Somewhat Disappointed With The FEL

I wish mine did this. I have filled rear tires and a fairly heavy concrete ballast on the three point so I certainly don't expect to lift the rear but I do think being able to lift and curl through loose dirt piled less than 3 feet deep is a reasonable expectation.
