    Sharpening blades

You might attach a magnetic protractor to the head of your angle grinder to get the proper angle? I'm a machinist, so it's just second nature to me.:D Always helps to have a fresh rock on the grinder, when they get rounded off it makes it harder to maintain a certain angle. Make sure they are...

    What kind of engine oil??

 Why not just leave the oil in it and change the filter? Since the sky is falling, you better change out the trans fluid while you are at it, because it builds up way more condensation than the engine oil will, and it will rust every part in it.:D It's just getting too complicated to...

Way off OTT...but do you know about trapping?

Just make sure you don't get up in the middle of the night to pee and step in it. Or worse yet, let your dog step in it.

    L3400 filters

Fleetfilter.com they have Napa Gold filters, made by Wix. You can go to the Wix site and do a search for your tractor and get the part numbers, then order them from fleetfilter, way cheaper. Shell Donax TD fluid cost me $56 per 5 gallon pale, look up the distributors in your area on the Shell...

    Greasing a woods Rotary cutter

Either take it loose from the gearbox or the PTO, then you should be able to move the u-joint so you can get to the fitting.

    Greasing a woods Rotary cutter

A standard grease gun should do it. Take the driveshaft loose and lay it down if you haven't tried that. It's hard to believe you can't get to it from some direction, I have a Woods 5' and I grease mine.

    What kind of engine oil??

You can still get the Rotella in CI-4+, but you have to buy it in drums. I stocked up when I saw it coming, have some pales still sitting around.:D

    Bushhog, Gearbox or spindle.

Most of the grade 8 we use are just black oxide. There is a 12.9 grade in metric as well.

    Bushhog, Gearbox or spindle.

Most of the shear bolts in any piece of equipment are Grade 2, at the very absolute most, a Grade 5. The equipment comes with the correct size bolt and grade, so as to shear the bolt instead of damaging the equipment. I bought a box of grade 2 bolts for my post hole digger, digging in rocks...

    Bushhog, Gearbox or spindle.

I hit a buried cable with my Woods and it sheared the input shaft off. They wouldn't sell just the shaft, I have to buy the whole gearbox. Lesson to all with a slip clutch and the shear bolt, used equipment may not have the correct parts in them, mine had a grade 8 bolt in it, and the clutch was...

    If you own a gun!

I've been thinking we are headed for another civil war, and that would certainly send it over the top. I have friends with armored tanks and more firepower than some small countries, and that ain't no bullshit.

    What kind of engine oil??

20 hours? I would have to change oil every two or three days at that. The schedule Kubota has is just fine, many tractors last tens of thousands of hours on that schedule. By changing oil prematurely you are also adding to the waste oil pollution we have to deal with. In fact, my oil is still...

    B1700 HST Overheating, Please Help

I don't know what that tractor looks like, but does it have a screen either in front of the radiator or in the grill where the air comes through? If it doesn't have a screen it may have clogged the fins in the radiator and they need to be flushed out with a water hose, or the screen needs to be...

    What kind of engine oil??

Whatever you use, make sure it is designed for diesels. I use Shell Rotella 15w-40 as well.:D Let the feud begin!

kubota l4200 hydraulic fluid top up

How many hours are on it? There should be a sight level on the rear differential, should be at least half way up the glass, I run mine up towards the top because I have hills. If it hasn't been serviced and has 600 hours or more on it, it needs to have the oil changed and a new filter, or...

Tow Vehicle?? What do you tow your Kubota with??

I looked up the specs on a 4runner, 4400 pounds. They had a tow capacity of 7300 pounds last year and it is no longer available, I see destruction written all over that. It has a v-6 and light weight running gear, I see destruction even at 5000 pounds. A truck made to tow 5000 pounds struggles...

Tow Vehicle?? What do you tow your Kubota with??

I agree, no way no how would I try and tow 5k with a 4runner. I tow maybe 6k total with my 2500 Ram and that is a load. One thing to consider is the weight of the tow vehicle, if it's light the trailer can have it's way with it. My Ram with me in it is 5800 pounds, it also has E class tires...

    Burn Piles

LOL!!! I know what you mean, too hard to get them started sometimes, sure don't want it put out. The last one I set off, I had a neighbor from down the road come driving up to see what was going on.:D

    Burn Piles

That was considered, but it would have required at least three pits to keep the dragging distance within reason. Plus, with all those stumps it is a pain in the butt even moving the debris to the piles. That lot is about 300 foot wide and about 750 foot deep.
