Can anyone reccomend a grease gun with flexible hose or an adapter that will allow me to grease the universal joint on my 5 ft woods rotary cutter? My gun has a flex hose but the nozzle and crimp on the hose are about 3 inches long and will not negotiate the turn to grease the rear universal.
Thanks,

A standard grease gun should do it. Take the driveshaft loose and lay it down if you haven't tried that. It's hard to believe you can't get to it from some direction, I have a Woods 5' and I grease mine.

Sam 427,
What are you referring to when you say lay it down? Take it loose from the gear box entirely?

Either take it loose from the gearbox or the PTO, then you should be able to move the u-joint so you can get to the fitting.

I've got a small pistol grip type grease gun with a flexible hose that just barely makes it to the grease nipple on the universal of the U-joint and if you got long skinny fingers and can swat the flies with your tail its easier. But not too easy.

Go to the store and buy a small box of grease fittings and get one's that have a 90 degree elbow on them.

This will fix what you right up. Works like a champ. If you can get a straight shot at the ball on the fitting this will grease it. It just slides straight on and then locks in place. I ordered mine from www.thetoolwarehouse.net for about $9.
