    UDT or Super UDT?

I look at it this way, oil is going to get nasty, regardless of what brand or type, it just the nature of the beast. After seeing how nasty the Amzoil was at 13,000 miles, I will never go that far on an oil change again, it can't be good for wear on parts. The big oil companies have good product...

    UDT or Super UDT?

Normally my truck burns maybe a half a quart on an 8000 mile oil change, certainly in the acceptable range. With the Amzoil it burned close to two quarts in within 13,000 miles. The oil change after the Amzoil was back to normal. Everybody should use whatever they feel is best and works for...

    UDT or Super UDT?

I don't think you ruffle any feathers with the Amsoil preachings, it's just that some don't see it as being worth the money it cost. As you know, I did not see favorable results when I switched my truck over to it. I would normally go 7000 to 8000 miles on a conventional oil change, and the...

    L4200 GST Parts

You might research and see if the L3410 has the same case, I noticed on mine the other day that the casting number was L4100 and made in 99.

    Hydro and Trans fluid

I've used Shell Donax TD in my GST and it did well in warm weather, it did seem a little slower in cold weather. Shell has a Donax TDL that should be comparable to the Kubota UTD2 fluid, the L in TDL stands for light weight fluid. I am using the Wally World Super Tech in mine now because a have...

    Front Loader Hydraulic Problems

My loader seems to have lost power too, it's a 2001 model with 800 hours. I'm starting to think the control valve may be leaking internally and need some new seals, or the pump may need a rebuild.

    Front end camber??

You aren't going to adjust it, it's fixed. My L3410 is the same way, it makes the outer edge of the tires dig in when you turn, otherwise it may push the front end when you make a turn. Don't worry about it, they figured it out years ago and it works. By the way, don't change the tire size, you...

    What weight oil for winter?

He did what he could, I'm sure you don't want him to work your tractor like I do mine. Mine was a little banged up when I bought it, so it doesn't hurt my feelings when I knock the head lights and tail lights out of it, and drive over stuff people would never consider doing. Or push stumps out...

    L4200 GST Trans not engaging

Is the clutch adjusted correctly? Almost sounds like a pressure issue though. I know my GST is a little slow to engage until the fluid warms up, but it still engages.

    What weight oil for winter?

Not really a fair comparison, the L3410 ran wide open all day and did three times the work.:D The Rotella T6 5w-40 works great in the winter, it has gotten a little expensive though.

    Fumoto valve

I'm with you, no doubt i would oil down the property after it ripped one of those off. I am constantly having to get the chainsaw out to cut limbs out from under the tractor while clearing the property.

oil seal removel front drive shaft

Thanks! I have another question, what are the two balls and the spring for on the gear? I am wondering if those came out, last year when I changed the hydraulic filter there was a loose ball lodged in the filter, I also found a piece of rubber, maybe an O-ring or part of a seal. The tractor has...

    Coolant Type, Dex-Cool OK?

That's pretty funny, Kubota says change every two years and you guys are worried about it gumming something up at 3 years? By the way, my GMC 3500 has had nothing but Dex-Cool in it and the radiator is clean as a whistle, it's 13 years old now and has only had the coolant changed 3 times.:D

oil seal removel front drive shaft

I have oil dripping out the plug in my bellhousing, I suspect the seals are going out on the propeller shaft on my L3410 too, 2001 model as well.:(

    Coolant Type, Dex-Cool OK?

I have Dex-Cool in my L3410, it seems to run a little cooler with it than what i dumped out. In fact everything I have put it in seems to run a little cooler.

    GST shifting question

I'll have to disagree, all oils are not equal. Oils vary wildly from different manufacturers. The base stocks the oils are made from has a huge impact on the quality of the oil, from there they each add their own home brew recipe to arrive at the final product. The best base stocks for petroleum...
