What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yesterday, not today… Thermometer hanging in pole barn read 102. Decided it was a good day to grease all fittings on chipper and shredder (the only two things that run off PTO and not stored outside the barn. Pulled apart PTO shafts on both and greased them, too. The only fitting I couldn’t...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yeah, something about that cotter pin. I found a JD green one on the foot deck of my L2501 a few months after I bought it. Searched all over looking for it’s source and nothing. Placed it in toolbox thinking I would find where it goes sooner or later. The pivot pin worked itself out a few...

What fluids do you use and where do you get them?

Well, I‘m guilty of overpriced. But, I know it meets spec. Buy them while getting the filters at the dealer. I have 3 Kubota dealers between my home and farm. None of which sold me the actual tractor. That dealer is 40 miles from my place in another direction. I make it a point to visit...

Another Am I getting Shafted Question

”…and a supposed recorded phone call with my wife…” Oh, well, if it’s recorded … (rolling eyes). If you had a nickel for every time someone said that you could buy the dealership and still have change left over. Have them produce the recording since he claims your wife agreed. To me his...

Another Am I getting Shafted Question

I’m not an attorney. i broke the disclaimer down sentence by sentence. i assume he’s an approved dealer and can issue a quote (#1). L4701 is Kubota equipment; you did not include any non-Kubota equipment; and, the tractor is it’s own standalone deal so whatever program applied should still...

    Im sure its simple

I think Daferris (post 18) has it. Top 3ph hook is contacting pin early. As you lift the slight angle to left or right is causing the implement to be off balance and tilting on the hook. the side that is slightly heavier locked in and lighter side can’t come down because hook is holding it...

Can anyone ID this cotter pin from my BX?

I can’t tell how large or small it is in photo. Where was it found? I found a small one on my tractor floor board once. I searched and couldn’t find where it went. Two weeks later my seat was lopsided. It went in the end of the pin the seat rotates forward on. Luckily, I remembered where...

L3710 3 point ripped out of housing

Sorry to see the damage. Hopefully the hauler can be held accountable and cover some if not all on insurance. I only have an L series but after reading this I am no longer running across the fields with my mower elevated. Strictly running on the tail wheel from now on. Good luck with an...

PTO Gear lever will not move

Oops! I read OP’s and then someone mentioned HST and I got off track. Sorry.

PTO Gear lever will not move

i have an HST L2501. This issue is common though never had the lever stick but the cable in the housing. Get some lubricant with a nozzle “straw”. Put the straw where the cable goes into the shielding. And spray liberally. Go to opposite end and spray up that end too (not easy to access)...

Perhaps this is common knowledge for MX owners ....

L2501 has the same 7mm plug. I must be lucky as it just took a simple open end wrench when I removed it at my 50 hour maintenance.

    Fuel Filter stuff

No. The owner owns the place. He likely has a keen business mind. May be original owner or handed down. But being the owner and knowing the equipment doesn’t have to go hand in hand.

    Kubota l2501

The background of the sight glass is pure white. If it appears straw colored (any shade other than pure white) you are likely viewing the fluid. mine has a small bubble at top as someone else mentioned when level.. To be sure, i parked it on an incline (lower on right) and could see the line.

    PTO shroud

My L2501 has one that flips up. When I first got it the thing wouldn’t budge. I took a wrench and loosened the two bolts. Sprayed some lube on each and retightened but not as tight as they were. it requires a bit of effort but it easily moves up and down and stays where positioned.

    PTO not disengageing

Get some spray lubricant with straw nozzle and spray it into the cable housing where the cable enters. Spray both ends. With the engine off move the lever back and forth from engaged to disengaged multiple times. Should free it up. Common problem on this model. Worked for me. I spray mine...

L2501 oil change at 200 or 400 hours?

I have the same tractor as OP. I change the oil and filter every 50 hours. I just passed 150 hours. Took about 14 months each to get to 50 and 100 so a bit over a year between changes. Took far less than a year for the last 50. And, I expect that to be the more expected time frame now. I...

    After market filters

I‘m sure as someone said, some may be better, some likely worse. I don’t question it. The savings I may get by buying another brand is not worth it if it fails and I have to pay for an engine or new tractor. I know Kubota doesn‘t make filters or oil. However, if they put their name on either...
