Been busy boys! Burned some junk wood in the garden then tilled over 4000 sq feet of soil for wildflowers. Hopefully attract some bees!

The Titan implement (Ironcraft) tiller ran awesome! I was averaging about 6” depth with one pass in hard, rocky Georgia clay. Super impressed.

Got around to pulling the skid plate off, putting the mid-mount mower on, and adding the pto driven grass catcher... what a pain in the a** ... With the wheel spacers (2" on each side) getting the grass catcher mounted was a test in patience, not sure that thing was ever intended to work with a bx using wheel spacers, but its on and was able to turn it on. The mid-mount.. that was also seriously difficult to get put on, I'm sure after some practice, but doing this for the first time caused many words of curse to escape my mouth. Now, just need to wait for the grass to grow.

Absolutely. I bought this sprayer new in September of 2016 and paid $993 for it and that included the Delavan pump and PTO adapter. That 3/8" return line is moronic, and I have no idea why it was set up that way, but now with the 3/4" return line the sprayer operates at the pressures listed in the owner's manual. Of course, had I used the sprayer for spraying when I bought it I would have crossed this bridge long ago, rather than a few days before actually needing the sprayer to work properly.

The liquid filled gauge is a nice ($10) upgrade and makes setting the pressure much easier and certainly more accurate.

I use dye in the tank when I spray with expensive fertilizer treatments. I just bought 2 jugs of this earlier this week.

And for anyone wanting to spray, but has never done it before, I would run a tank of water and dye over your est. measured area a couple weeks before hand, this let's you know if your application rate/mix meets the desired area. Chemicals can get expensive fast, water and dye is a cheap test run and a good shake down before doing actual spraying.

50 hour service on the U27-4. It was mostly a drama free service today. 8mm drive plugs came out without issue. Some metal shavings in the gear oil but about what I expected to see. Tensioned the tracks, cleaned the air filter, water separator, greased the machine and gave the cab a good sweeping. Topped off the fuel and should be good to go for 3 digs next week. Fingers crossed.

Made it out to the farm today and got some potatoes planted and started doing a little mowing. Storms started moving in quickly, so had to stop mowing and get everything put up.

Yet, we did get all the potatoes planted for this batch and will plant more in a few weeks.

I started the second driveway in earnest this afternoon. I only put about 45 minutes of work in with the M6060 and EA Extreme box blade to see how it's going to go. I'll hook up the MX to the small dump trailer once the sprayer is off, and load that up to move dirt rather than making numerous trips to the dirt pile to dump the M6060 bucket out. That's just not efficient.

This driveway will be about 175 yards long when it's done and it'll be really helpful bringing trailers and the boat up the hill. Currently there's a really sharp bend where the lower gravel driveway turns into the asphalt driveway and it's a pita pulling a trailer, and a real pita in the winter since I have to take the truck out of 4wd to make the turn. This new driveway will fix all that.

Thanks for that. I can definitely see where that'd be incredibly useful. I hope I can see where I've sprayed tomorrow. I guess it'll depend on how the MX tires mark the ground.

Spring is coming. Will need mulch, compost, gravel, top soil, etc.

Since I don't have a dump trailer, I built an off loading ramp for my utility trailer. Used the BH to dig a trench and dropped two 18' trees in, stacked. Dug out the backside about 12' wide so I can just back my loaded trailer up to it so it's level. Can just drive my tractor onto the back of the trailer and off load with bucket. Or, that's the plan, at least. Not tried it yet.

Update: Picked up 6 yards of mulch this week (2 trips) and utilized the ramp to unload. Works pretty good!

Tore up the pot holes in the drive today. Three hours of seat time and I still suck at the box blade. Did ok tearing it up but leveling the material, not so much. I resorted to back dragging with the FEL and that got it satisfactory. Need to order up rock in the next couple weeks

Keep playing with it and you’ll figure it out. Looks like you did a good job roughing it in and with a couple of adjustments could have it finished up with a couple more passes and maybe a final back drag in float with the loader bucket at a shallow angle.

Suggestion based on your pic and post. Once you have it reasonably leveled out and fluffy but not silky smooth, lengthen the top link such that the front (inside the box) blade either doesn’t hit at all or barely hits when the boxblade is resting on the ground. That basically means your back dragging with the blade on the back of the box as you drive forward. Put a little tilt on it and you’ll get a bit of a crown, which it looks like you might could use. Back dragging with the bucket at a shallow angle for a final touch is swell. Nothing wrong with that so long as the angle is pretty flat and you’re not trying to move some significant bulk of material.

And one thing that was anti-intuitive to me at first: don’t go slow unless you have to, particularly once you get to the smoothing/finishing stage. 5mph will give you a smoother result than 0.5mph as a general rule.

Thanks NCL4701. I had the top link adjusted so the box was flat and then tried to adjust height to keep that rear blad about an inch off the surface. I need rock and definitely need a crown on it. If the rain holds off today, I may go play a bit more

We have three millstones, all of a different type, on the property. Didn’t used to ever move them, at least partly because we had nothing to move them with. Wife knows we can move them, so now they’re a viable option for rearranging once in a while. Moved this one from a natural area in our back yard to a more prominent location in front of the unoccupied house today.

I put the pivot pin back in my seat since my wonderful dealer didn't install the cotter pin, it never ends.

Yeah, something about that cotter pin. I found a JD green one on the foot deck of my L2501 a few months after I bought it. Searched all over looking for it’s source and nothing. Placed it in toolbox thinking I would find where it goes sooner or later. The pivot pin worked itself out a few weeks later and voila Took pliers and bent both sides. It’s not coming out again.

I wondered if the green paint is why it popped out - orange rejected it? Kidding, only thing I have against JD is you pay for the color, not that Kubota is cheap.

The frost pushes up rocks in my woods road drive during the winter. When they get high enough to interfere with grading I pull them out. As the frost is coming out in the spring and the road is a plastic slurry they come out easy. For anything six-pack size or so it's easiest to just use a 5' bar to pop them out. Bigger ones I use the tractor.

This one was like a molar with a big root.

Started the BH77 install tonight after fertilizing the lawn and errands.

This is what I could do so far without the new BH77/BH4966 instructions - my kit has some unique parts that the instructions for older BH77/BH4962 (B2650) will not suffice.

1. Relocated toolbox
2. Removed rear cross brace
3. Relocated turn signals

Over the course of the week, I'll remove the 3pt parts and drawbar and start the subframe bracket install and hydraulic line replacement.

A few questions for anyone with an LX series:

1. What are the two black bracket levers? for?
2. What is this orange trapezoid bracket for?
3. Shouldn't my power beyond line and my hose come with pressure fittings? If not, I have two male fittings that came with the tractor that I can use.
4. Where does the safety triangle reflector mount?

The bracket levers are the control sticks for the backhoe. If you have the flip seat, those look like the correct sticks. Separate seat uses short/straight sticks. Not sure where the knobs are.

the SMV triangle is supposed to go on the dipper of the hoe. Don't bother with it. It'll just peeve you off when digging deep ditches.

I can't tell what that other item is in the clear bag. Unrecognizable to me.
