Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Go for it! What kind of “deal” though? 🤣 I see a “lineup” of machines at my local dealer…haven’t stopped to see if what they are though.

The dealer got his last digs in by swapping out the wheels…stuff like that pisses me off too. I would DEMAND the OEM wheels be put back on the new machine. What a low thing to do.

Relative to my interests as well. I have a Z422-54

    Kubota RTV 520

Sure, a simple floor jack and some jack stands will raise it enough for getting under it. There are also mower lifts that you drive the front tires onto then, then jack the front up as high as you need.

Ha! I would not call this “normal” by any stretch…

The Mule is high on my list! I just wondered if the 400 series had enough oomph to go up hills as my property is all steep out back where I would be taking it. All hardwood woods with leaf litter

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Does anyone think that ALL of the sidekicks manufactured have this problem? Or is it a specific model? I am looking to buy a sxs this year and there are some on marketplace etc. of course no one mentions this problem? Be that as it may, I don’t think I would take a chance on one.

If they go “all electric” we’re screwed.😡

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Sounds like you got eaten up by the Kubota machine. Very bad customer service. If I owned the dealership you bought from, I would have my mechanics fix your problem free of charge. It just isn’t right to treat a customer this way. 😡

Damn…all I would be doing is “short tripping” if I owned a UTV. Hell, what about other makes? Do they fail from short tripping as well? Thinking about Kawasaki Mule and also CFMoto units.

    Greasing your machine....The hate/hate relationship.

Never “cleaned” my tractor, per se but just wipe off hanging grease with a rag. Used to hose off grass clippings when it had a mower deck is about it.

Wow! I can’t believe these Kubota utvs are so crappy. I guess I’ll be going with Polaris or Kawasaki in my next purchase!

    Gravely side by sides??

Hmmm…see? Different experiences for different folks…I think a thorough test drive is in order no matter what you buy. I personally have zero “farm chores” but I would want to traverse my hills for woods trail clearing of deadfalls. I know my BX25d will climb for mowing (when I used it for that)...

    Gravely side by sides??

Thanks! You gave a great overview of them all! So the mule is underpowered, or just the SX? My neighbor has a mule but no idea which model. I have some steep hills I’d have to traverse. I would also like engine braking for the down hills.

    Gravely side by sides??

Yes. I want utility and not speed, etc I love the Mules! That’s probably what I’ll end up buying. Just keeping options open and doing due diligence til I’m ready (2024 sometime)
