    Battery

Just went through this online search for a battery.....measured the base of the battery tray (the most critical of all measurements in my situation), and then began the online search. FWIW, the online measurements (width and length) are of the top portion of the battery, which is 1/2 to 3/4"...

Reckon Just Gonna Have To Trade Tractors

Here's the path I followed when doing the same type conversion on my L3800 (adjustable sway/stabilizer and lift arms with telescoping ends) using L3130 parts. The adjustable sway/stablizers were purchased from stabilworks.rocks (Mark Hodge......a super guy and a great product) First check the...

Pros and Cons for adding a PTO Extender Adapter to make PTO shaft attachment easier

Connecting to my brush hog was the most difficult of all my chores......here was my solution: 1. Clean and lube the telescoping parts of the metal PTO shaft 2. Change out the yoke that attaches to a "slide pin" style https://www.agrisupply.com/series-4-yoke-1-3-8-6-spline/p/102703/ 3. Change...

Securing Pitman Arm to Steering Box - This doesn't look right

As I was greasing the tractor this morning, couldn't help but notice the bolt that holds the pitman arm to the steering box, appears to have backed off. What is the process of tightening this back the original specs.......and what are the specs?? Thanks for any/all help.

The low down on oil and slopes?

I've been dealing with this issue in mowing a tank dam with my Scag zero turn. Scag says do not exceed 15 degrees (for their liability, I assume) ........yet the Kawasaki engine manual states 25 degrees for that particular engine. When in doubt check with the engine manual!!

FWIW, In Jan of this year I was on the same search for "1 Grease for All Applications".......contacted Schaeffer Co with my needs that included FEL, General Lube, and Zero Turn Blade Spindles......their recommendation was Schaeffer's 219 NLGI #2 SynForce Green Grease. However after much...

Kubota ZD1011 - Need your experiences, thoughts, and reviews on this mower

It's time to retire my old Scag Tiger Cub.......and have considered Hustler, Ferris, Snapper, Badboy (all gas), however now thinking it may be money well spent to step up to the ZD1011. Questions I have: Do they have overheating issues? How durable is it? Easy to maintain? What is your overall...

    PTO Quick Connect

Being in my senior years, and struggling to hook up the PTO shaft.......I changed the yoke on my brush hog and finish mower to this style......much easier than the other styles in my opinion. https://www.agrisupply.com/yoke/p/31373/ Another thing that helps is back your tractor up and align...

    Lift arm pins?

This has worked well for me (available in different lengths)........check eBay for prices if interested. FWIW, they are also available in the 3/4" diameter, makes hook-up a little easier. https://www.huyett.com/products/fasteners/pins/hitch-pins/hpl-0875-6250r?searchText=

Obviously I am Doing something (everything) wrong..

I've certainly shared in this frustration in earlier years.........my solution: Have a welder convert all my older equipment to a U-shaped connection similiar to the attached photo. Now I set my stabilizer bars, and never need to adjust them. Connecting/disconnecting to equipment is super easy.

Good Battery...no start HST pedal neutral switch or ???

Many thanks for the wiring schematic......will download and hang on to it!! There appears to be a short in one or more of the wires from the tractor side connector (female) that connects to the neutral switch. I discovered late yesterday, after a no start, wiggling the wires on the wires...

Good Battery...no start HST pedal neutral switch or ???

Right now the wiring harness is connected to the neutral switch, but have the neutral switch hand held to press the plunger by hand (thus eliminating any pedal motion) still will not start, no noise. Head lights come on, dash light come on..........

Good Battery...no start HST pedal neutral switch or ???

Several months ago I was having intermittent starting issues related to the HST pedal neutral switch on my L3800. Instead of adjusting the switch I made two jumper wires (Black w/white stripe to Red w/ black stripe) and (Black w/yellow stripe to Yellow w/black stripe). This set up work great...

    Best All Around Tractor Grease

Like many others I have been down this same road, trying to get to "one grease for all" (FEL, Zero Turn blade spindles, and Gen'l Lube). I contacted two companies, and here is their recommendation(s) for "one for all": Texas Refinery (TRC Ft. Worth) - Paragon 3000 Schaeffer Co -...
