BX24 Rear End Lockup Lever Broken

As Steve said - 0% did it for me almost a year ago. I looked at BX tractors 3 times since 2002. The dealer I dealt with took my trade (JD-425) for about what I expected ($4k). A BX2360 doesn't have a 'hoe - but I did get the loader, 51" front snowblower, 54" MMM - all which add up pretty...

BX24 Rear End Lockup Lever Broken

I doubt you could get a new BX25D for $16k, but man, I don't think you're far from it......... A friend got a quote for a BX25D for about $17k last week. (I think $16,900 - but don't hold me to it) If the guy is looking for $16k for his BX24 with 500 hrs and "issues," that's a no-go in my...

I saw your post about a LARGE hammer in the other thread here, and now I get it. I wish I could help, and know EXACTLY where you're attitude is at. Hang in there, it'll come!!! Resist the BFH!!!:D

    Mid-PTO Install (with pictures)

Super job, and great looking tractor! I have a 51" front mount on my BX2360. My first winter with the tractor and snowblower. Both have done a great job. I'm jealous for your workshop space. Great pics. Foolish question - do you need to engage rear PTO to run the mid-PTO, or are they...

Well i must ask the question, How wet is it where you are???

Rob - have you had anything damaged by the water? I've seen some news coverage - looks pretty bad. We had some problems in my area in 2006 and 2011. Not fun. Of course, there was the Blizzard of '93 here..... Wish you the best.

How cold & white is it where you at present.

I'm with ya'. Forecast -3 tonight. 17 tomorrow. I burn 5 tons of pellets/season. My forecast is 6+ this season. 2 tons left in the garage. Not sure that's going to make it.

    Any car gurus here?

Yes - I had Wrangler AT/S on my last truck - 2007 Chevy. I had good experience with them, too. Changed at 48k or so. I kept 2, 'cause they weren't that beat. Not sure - but I think my '03 Chevy were Firestone/Bridgestone OEM. They worked great too, so I replaced the Wranglers on the '07...

    Still winter

Beautiful picture, bearbait! I noticed a lot of ducks on the nearby river here last week - all drakes. If I remember right, males migrate early. Must be a sign of spring? We have WAY too many resident Canada geese, but ducks not so much 'round these parts. So, I'm REALLY hoping these are...

    Any car gurus here?

They won't necessarily be loose either - sometimes with a screwdriver to the bearing and your ear you can hear it making noise when you turn it. After reading the posts you've attracted - I feel better that I wasn't the only guy with bad belts on G-Y tires - but mine were 20+ years ago. Wish I...

    Any car gurus here?

I'm no expert - just draw from experience. I would suspect a belt or still, wheel bearing. If it does start to wander - that bearing is REALLY bad, and you don't want to go there. Another that had me stumped a while back was sway bar link - but they bother on bumps. Since you checked many...

    Any car gurus here?

Good point - I'm not a big fan of Good-Year tires due to belts. Probably just my bad luck, but those Invicta tires they made years ago went bad on me due to belts. When they went on me, it would shimmy like a wheel out of balance. They were OEM for many vehicles 25+ years ago.

    Any car gurus here?

A bad wheel bearing will not necessarily make it wander. The one's on our van I think are a bad design - been through a bunch of 'em. Any odd tire wear? You say since they were put on.....

    Any car gurus here?

I've replaced about 50 (really 6 or 7) wheel bearings on a 06 Chevy Uplander van. Usually a howl, but other funky sounds can happen, too. Can you feel it in the steering wheel or anyplace else when it thumps?

Friggin' Cold - Synthetic Here We Go!

Important point, and for the life of me, not sure why - need to go some hours before the switch to synthetic. For that reason, I haven't done synthetic oil already. Only 50 hours or so on it. By next winter, I'll be close enough. My Harley came the same way - run it 1,500 miles(?) or more...

    Well here we go again

I'm a 23-year transplant to Oxford. Biggest place I've ever lived - came from suburban-Truxton, NY near Labrador Mtn. Love it here - except for winter (364 days), and taxes. Joking, of course. Greene and BB are great places - had supper at The Silo few weeks ago. From what I hear, Raymond is...

Friggin' Cold - Synthetic Here We Go!

What Bulldog said - As he pointed out, there really is a difference in lubricants, both conventional and synthetic, IMO. As we've all said here - this stuff is cheap compared to repairs. Get the good stuff, but you still need to service your equipment! That part we tend to forget. What...
